Still in shock that I just had a baby in the passenger seat of my car on the way to the hospital. Baby sleeping peacefully now but I can't drift off because I feel so full of adrenaline from the experience!

Congratulations!!! Did you have a boy or girl? 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I had my little girl on Wednesday and she was very close to being born in the car!

Aquamarine1029 · 11/10/2021 03:37

What a story you have to tell! Congratulations!! You and baby are safe and healthy - that's all that matters!

cfh2287 · 11/10/2021 03:41

A baby girl! Feel so lucky that it all went smoothly

@cfh2287 congratulation super mama!!!
You should contact your local news paper, tell your story. Makes a change from the daily gruesome stories we get to read about.

Wow! Congratulations!
And yes, thank goodness all we my smoothly.
Is she your first baby?

cfh2287 · 11/10/2021 03:49

Haha name TBC so cara could be on the list! She's my third baby so you would think I would know better but she came so much faster than the other two. The pain didn't feel intense enough to be proper labour until I got into the car

Congratulations Thanks

Onesailwait · 11/10/2021 04:03

Wow congratulations. I had my 3rd in the hospital main reception. Only just made it in from the carpark. I had to get signed in & sign consent from my midwife while giving baby the 1st feed.
I hope you're enjoying a decent cuppa☕

Hydrate · 11/10/2021 04:20

Congratulations!💐 Did the driver get medics there afterwards? Was the car still driving, or had you pulled over?

Redsquirrel5 · 11/10/2021 04:21

Congratulations. My friend had her fourth baby in the car in the car park too. She had to drop the other kids off with her mum. Her labour was 45 minutes from start to finish. I looked after him when he was 18 mths and she went and trained to be a midwife!

I’m not surprised you have an adrenaline rush what a shock for you. Lots of wonderful cuddles.

Lovethewinter · 11/10/2021 04:23

Wow congratulations! I had my second little girl on Friday. My first labour was 3 hours and this one was 1 hour 8 mins after having my waters broken. They said good job you were in to have them broken or you'd have probably had her at home or in the car! Did your OH manage to pull over when you had to push her out? And you had no pain relief!!

Hydrate · 11/10/2021 04:31

She is a Thanksgiving Baby, well, in Canada she would be! You can call her Pumpkin for a nickname! You'll have to serve pancakes with maple syrup on her birthday breakfasts!

cfh2287 · 11/10/2021 05:06

@Hydrate he pulled over once he saw the head had come out! Then luckily was able to catch her before calling an ambulance who were there about 5 mins after she was born. Still can't sleep!

So exciting! Well done.

VittysCardigan · 11/10/2021 05:29

Congratulations! My 4th was very nearly born in the car. Just got to the hospital, was pushed to the labour room at a run, managed to get one leg out of my pants & trousers & delivered him still in the wheelchair!

Torvean · 11/10/2021 06:13

Congrats on your new daughter. That will be a story for the books for your wee girl. ❤

Livebythecoast · 11/10/2021 06:26

Oh wow! Congratulations on your baby girl Flowers.
If I gave birth in my car I could call her Kia (middle name Picanto?!) Grin
Enjoy your gorgeous baby 🤗

MyOtherProfile · 11/10/2021 06:34

Wow well done!

LavenderYellow · 11/10/2021 06:35

Huge congratulations! Flowers
I nearly had one of mine in the car too. The only reason I didn't is that he was stuck and we ended up with ventouse delivery, but I arrived in hospital fully dilated.
Wishing you both all the best Smile

YukoandHiro · 11/10/2021 06:37

Congratulations OP! Hope you and your baby and getting some rest now. How lucky you had a smooth birth.

Lovely happy thread to wake up to

PermanentTemporary · 11/10/2021 06:37

Citroën is a lovely name for a girl. Congratulations!

OldTinHat · 11/10/2021 06:41

How amazing! Congratulations! But I've always wondered what goes on the birth certificate in these circumstances - I had DS2 at home so place of birth was recorded at my address. Does 'motorway services on M25' get recorded?! Enjoy your beautiful new baby! Flowers
