Thanks lulu, I will do (or try no to be too tense ) I dont know any breathing exercises as we dont have any classes for it in my area, but just concerntrating on slow rythmic breathing.

I will be going in to the home Haych, as have to have anitbiotic cover and consultant wants me to have an epi, due to my heart condition.

ok

try to breathe deeply, not shallow, and the gas and air can help you with that if you choose it

try to concentrate on riding through each contraction and not tensing waiting for it to end

each one you have is a step closer to baby, and one you don;t have to do again

sacral pressure can be really helpful too

GoodGollyMissMolly · 18/11/2007 21:00

thanks Lulu, Whats sacral pressure?

OP posts:
hayCHingleBells · 18/11/2007 21:51

Im afraid, i dont know what sacral pressure is either, i guess dp should push onto your sacrum to relieve some pain?

I hope you are ok throughout. Best of luck!!! Cant wait to find out how it went.

You CAN do it! You WILL do it!
Keep calm, dont fight it, just do it.

Do you know the sex?

GoodGollyMissMolly · 18/11/2007 22:10

Thanks haych, I've tried googling it, but I cant find anything that makes any sense to me, lol.

No we dont know the sex, but I think it's a boy

hayCHingleBells · 18/11/2007 22:12

Oooh, a baby boy!
I didnt get boys, i have 2 girls.

I guess youve got a long night ahead of you. How are you feeling now??

Do you have a name sorted?

Prunie · 18/11/2007 22:30

Sacral pressure means perhaps rolling the heel of a hand over the bottom of your back - quite firmly. The midwife taught dh how to do it and it really helped -v good pain relief!

Lulumama - you knit?????

Sorry, as you were, and have a lovely labour.xx

Santasmissyontheside · 18/11/2007 22:42

Oh i'm SO JEALOUS! I love labour. Especially that pushing out bit! how you doing now?

GoodGollyMissMolly · 18/11/2007 22:45

haych, the contractions are comming every 6 minutes now and about 2 minutes long and so very, very painful.

We have chosen Jack William for a boy and Erika May for a girl.

Thanks Prunie, I will tell DH now how to do it.
