Hi, did anyone had a 10lb or bigger baby? Which was your experiences, which method you've used and how bad or good was it, any complications? I was due to give birth yesterday, today I had a scan, my baby weights 10lb, they offered induction before but I refused, they offered csection I refusef, tommorrow I am having membrane sweep at home with a hope that it will trigger labour, had some period kindlike pains but nothing major.please help thanks Bear

Not quite 10lb but my 3rd was a home birth and he was 9lb12. Gravity really helped me give birth (perhaps the only time gravity is a woman's friend). He was rather long and the midwives were surprised by his weight. I chose a home birth because my second labour was so rapid we barely made it to the hospital!

Good luck to you, I know birth is scary but you will be in good hands Smile

My 2nd was 10lb. Tbh apart from the crowning, the rest of it was no more painful than my others

I would never schedule a section based on a scan. My first was meant to be close to 11lbs. Came out at 42w 7lbs.

My first was 9lb 2oz but head on 99th percentile and back to back. Labour was very long but he was born without any intervention in the water. I was told that weight can often help as bigger babies have more help from gravity. I would try to avoid early induction as scans can be very inaccurate on weight and if a baby is not ready to come there are likely to be a lot more complications/interventions.

My last child was 10lb 4ozs. Home birth. No complications. All went very smoothly.

Hi- I also had a 10 pound baby that was 2 weeks overdue which shocked me! I didn't think I had GD but maybe it went undiagnosed. Just wondering did you not have GD also? I am wondering if it just genetic reasons for having a bigger baby as his dad was 9.1 pounds 1 week overdue and his sister was 9.3 pounds.
