Anyone gone over 42 weeks?

Currently 40+5 with DC2, DC1 arrived early at 36+4 so this is a whole new experience. Will probably opt to be induced at 41+5, but midwife said they could just wait with daily monitoring after 42 weeks to see what happens. Has anyone else done this and how long did it take for baby to turn up?

Mine all did. My longest was 42+4. That was a relatively straightforward delivery. I’d had induction/accelerated labour at 42+1 for my first and had significant consequent problems. I refused induction for the others but had daily review. They were fine.

Going overdue risks infection to baby and failure of the placenta. .its not worth pushing for natural labour to avoid being induced if you lose or damage the thing you want most.

Over 42, no. There's too much risk. I had DD at 41+1 naturally as she came on her own time eerily exactly 9 months of pregnancy (I knew exactly when I ovulated and conceived). I had refused sweeps but wouldn't have been willing to go to 42+. DD was born with the cord around her neck.
