Baby where are you? 40+6

Starting to lose hope, baby was practically fully engaged at 39 weeks and sometimes when walking etc felt like baby was pushing on my cervix, but in the last week I haven't really felt any low pressure at all even when bouncing on the ball etc. Even my Braxton Hicks have been less. I have a sweep booked at 41+2 and then midwife will contact the induction team but I'm sick of every day passing and nothing, no signs.

Anyone else waiting? 😒

Me too! 40+6 as well. I swear I get less symptoms every day!! I’ve got a sweep and ‘induction discussion’ tomorrow. Wasn't planning on having a sweep tbh but at this point i’m past caring about the possible pain and uncomfortableness and just want to do anything to get things going!!!

Reelaa · 26/09/2020 15:46

I'd have had a sweep this week if they offered! Been cleaning today in the hope that'll start things off (no nesting feeling, just needs doing 😂), but the only thing I've felt is baby pressing on a nerve that he sometimes does 🙄. Hope your sweep works tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

Aaaah the dreaded wait after the big 'four zero' when every day feels like a month!! I had a sweep at 40+5 and my cervix was 1cm and no signs of anything. DS was born at 40+7.
Fingers crossed for you both that the show gets on the road soon!!

Reelaa · 27/09/2020 08:36

41 weeks now. Not surprised 🙈 and nothing has changed overnight!

God you must be so uncomfortable. Hope you get squishy baby cuddles soon.

Mintjulia · 27/09/2020 09:28

Good luck. I hope it comes today xx

OrDis · 27/09/2020 10:09

Same @Reelaa! Was having some quite bad back pain yesterday evening- couldnt really work out if it was coming in waves or not and could sort of ignore it so figured probably wasnt proper contractions. All stopped again overnight! Argggghgggh

Reelaa · 27/09/2020 10:44

Come on babies! I'm about to go for a long walk (well the same walk twice so I can go for a wee half way round 🙄). This was my sleep last night.....left side hip pain, wee, right side carpal tunnel, wee, left side hip pain, wee, right side carpal tunnel, wee.....repeat.....🙈🙈🙈

Baby where are you? 40+6

I am 40 weeks tomorrow and have the worst back ache today.. I also feel very irritable and my baby has been constantly on the move today. I wonder if this is it, or if it's in my head as I am getting very impatient. I will probably go 2 weeks over knowing me!

Reelaa · 27/09/2020 16:00

Hopefully @Dolly92, I've been like that wondering if every little thing could be the start of it though 🙈.

I'm 40+1 today and feeling the same. Baby has been head down and engaged for weeks. I have a scan and consultant review booked for in the morning so if baby hasn't came by then (I don't think I have any chance of him coming any time soon😂) then I will probably get a plan put in place x

Margo34 · 27/09/2020 17:15

40+1 here too, family got my hopes up by all guessing baby would come around 39w (because theirs all did) but nope! 🙄
Just back from a long walk, the back ache is real! It's constant though not what I'd imagine if it were the start of something..... Sigh.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 27/09/2020 17:17

It is the longest time, if it helps my four DC were induced and all went well. Two of them at 42 weeks! Try to get some rest, it’s horrible going to be every night hoping that you will wake up to contractions.

OrDis · 27/09/2020 17:20

Had a sweep earlier- cervix favourable and 1cm dilated so fingers crossed she comes soon as i’m now booked for induction on Friday.

Dolly92 · 27/09/2020 17:32

Ahh! Good luck ladies I hope babies make appearances for us all soon! Do let us know! Xx

Reelaa · 27/09/2020 17:40

I just wish I had more of a plan earlier, not that I want induction but they cancelled 40 week appointments because of covid, and I know NHS guidance is first time mums should be offered a sweep at 40 weeks. I had my 39 week appointment, and then sweep due at 41. I just don't want the induction team to contact me and tell me I'm booked in for 42+1 or 2 or something ridiculous. I want next Friday or Saturday as a date at the latest. I doubt I can request a specific day as I'm sure they are busy. Still hope baby comes naturally but I just want to know as everyone else seems to have a plan in place!

@OrDis hope your sweep works for you! 🤞

When is your next appointment? Could you ring them tomorrow and say your concerned nothings been booked yet?

freezerdinners · 27/09/2020 18:39

Hi! 40+4 here. Strong braxton hicks and a bit of a show this morning, but not much else. It's so distracting! I feel really out of sorts. Willing it to happen because I don't like the uncertainty, but also really nervous about it too. I don't feel my mind is ready this time round to go through labour (this is my third - and first two births were absolutely fine, so I'm not sure what's causing my hesitation this time!).

Reelaa · 27/09/2020 19:37

@OrDis appointment is Tuesday, my midwife doesn't work Mondays so no point ringing for the sake of one day.

@freezerdinners hopefully just hormones making you feel off and it's all about to kick off? 🤞

OP posts:
freezerdinners · 28/09/2020 09:46

Still no sign of anything serious here. Am definitely more uncomfortable though, and getting lots more take my breath away twinges.
@Reelaa hormones are definitely running amok!

Anyone else moving along?!

OrDis · 28/09/2020 11:12

Don’t think theres any movement here. Back is a bit achy but probably just because I cleaned the kitchen haha!

freezerdinners · 28/09/2020 11:17

@OrDis I'm impressed you have the energy to clean the kitchen! I don't want to do anything - feel so lazy!

Pipperleen · 28/09/2020 11:17

Joining in as I am losing my mind!
I’m 41+4 today. Had a midwife appointment this morning - accepted my first sweep which was...not for me. I have got another booked on Wednesday but am thinking of cancelling to be honest. I fully understand that I have got a birth to get through but I honestly thought I was going to throw up or faint once she got going. Still feeling rather nauseous. What a state!!
Induction booked for Thursday anyway.
Anyone got anything thoughts on this? I’m really torn.
Sending labour-y vibes to you all!

freezerdinners · 28/09/2020 11:29

Did your midwife say you were dilated at all today Pipperleen? I imagine sweeps are more uncomfortable if everything is still pretty closed up??
See how you go maybe? There's still time and you can always decide at the appointment itself rather than cancelling. If you have more cramps etc then maybe your cervix will open a bit more and it won't be so uncomfortable?

Reelaa · 28/09/2020 11:36

After all my moaning I'm in hospital in labour! Contractions started last night at 9pm, guessing DP making me speed walk did the job! Had an epidural though and on the go slow so waiting for more drugs to work! 28/29 hours with no sleep now 😴😴😴
