And also is/was the length of labour for your immediate female family members indicative of your own potential labour duration, too?

Thanks

47 hours! From spontaneous rupture of membranes to forceps delivery via induction. I did have contractions for the whole 47h, but for the first 34 or so they weren’t really doing all that much useful other than exhausting me.

76 hours. Ducking nightmare and took me years to recover from the sleep deprivation

It was ok, slightly traumatic but made it through (forceps, child in distress).

Think it was worse for OH than me, but the second she was out it was perfect.

Try not to worry.

Waters broke at 10am, in active labour at midday, delivered at 5:30pm

Contractions started around 5 pm, was 4 cm on arrival at hospital at midnight and DS was born at 1.25 am. So I think it was roughly 45 minutes first stage and 40 minutes second stage. My mum was induced with her first so can't really compare.

My first was 6 hours from first pain to birth. Waters broke about an hour or so before he was born.

Second baby was under 3 hours from first pain to baby. Waters broke 28 mins before baby was born.

My mum has one induced birth which went on for days. Her birth with me was spontaneous and about 3 hours as well.

First twinge around 9:30pm, first proper this is a contraction 10:30pm checked at 11:40pm I was 3cm but they came thick and fast after this and I was pushing 2 hours later. She was born at 2:27am. So really about 2hrs 40mins from established labour to baby being born. She would have been out quicker if she was in a better position. It was quick but jeez it was intense x

My mum had easy labours but not overly quick.

Very similar to my mums. 30 hours from waters breaking (before contractions) to giving birth. Contractions started spontaneously overnight but had the oxytocin drip the following evening and baby was born 8 hours after drip
