Counting down the days now....who's with me?

Title says it all really. Currently 38+1 but now reached the stage where I'm hoping bubba decides to join us sooner rather than later! Not my first baby so fingers crossed - others arrived between 38-40 weeks. Dr attempted sweep yesterday (early I know but other issues going on and I'm keen to avoid more formal induction as a result of these) but cervix so high she couldn't reach it successfully. Feeling very uncomfortable, hardly slept in weeks and got continual backache!

Anyone else want some company and freedom to rant/moan away these last few weeks (or days if we're lucky)???

I'll join you. 39 weeks today and in a bad mood cos I'm still pregnant 🤣 even though DS came at 40+3 and I've told myself this whole time that I won't be impatient at the end. Tbf I've been better than I was first time round, but heavily pregnant with a toddler is challenging!

Nocturnalpearl · 27/04/2019 16:55

Me too! Due Monday with DC3. Went over with both other children so I don't know why I'm surprised but soooooo fed up! Aching, can't move properly and constant heartburn!
Grumpy and hormonal! 😤

Sunshinegirl82 · 27/04/2019 18:32

Me too, also 38+1 and done now. I'm so uncomfortable all the time, horrendous heartburn and terrible pelvic pain.

I'm having an elective section next week (if he doesn't turn up of his own accord beforehand) and can not wait!!

littlethings1234 · 27/04/2019 20:02

Ladies I'm there with you with regards to the heartburn! Will need to remortgage the house at the rate I'm going through Gaviscon lol.

Really really thought I might go early again this time. My last DC was born at 38 weeks and I've had so many more Braxton Hicks etc this time and bubba is so low that I was prepared for it being even earlier this time but after yesterday it doesn't look like it will be any time soon.

Love being preggers and totally wouldn't mind if I could actually sleep for more than 3 hours a night and could move without pain. Feel so slow and lazy which is just not me but at the same time it hurts to sit still so there's no winning hence @NannyPear I totally get the bad mood!!!

Fingers crossed we all get a nice surprise sooner rather than later!

Right there with you!! 39 weeks tomorrow. Exhausted constantly, heartburn, aching, and the last couple of days I have been emotional and short of patience! Oh the joys. Also have a toddler which is tiring and testing at times. I was induced with dd1 and had her exactly 2 weeks over so I was always expecting the same but it doesn't help feeling impatient. I didnt get any Braxton hicks last time and havent this time. Have been offered a sweep on Wednesday but it was horrendous last time so i cant decide whether to go through it again.

NannyPear · 27/04/2019 20:08

Have to say I'd be even more fed up now if I'd had a DC who came at 38 weeks. Currently bouncing on a ball. Done know why, it's not gonna do anything, but at least I can convince myself I'm doing something productive haha

littlethings1234 · 27/04/2019 21:14

Haha @NannyPear I've been on and off mine all day! Replaced my usual brews with Raspberry Leaf Tea, been taking EPO for the last few days and tried the pineapple/curry combo but from experience this only exasperates the heartburn lol.

37+6 laid awake with insomnia just for a change 😴 exhausted, heartburn, needing a wee every 5 minutes, achy. First baby so ready to meet her!!

peanacat · 28/04/2019 05:34

39+1 here... first baby so was expecting to go over, however, had on and off period pains and slightly painful contractions since last wed so really thought something was happening.. to no avail. Heartburn has been awful for months, been on Ranitidine and Gaviscon but still suffering, and can’t sleep properly either, so I feel you OP.

I am so fed up and want this baby out I just feel as though I’m wasting every day sitting about moping, it’s awful Sad

littlethings1234 · 28/04/2019 11:39

Know what you mean about feeling as if the days are wasted. I actually slept reasonably well last night (after a long bath until 2am and 4 episodes of BGT whilst DH snoozed next to me) so feeling a little brighter this morning. Decided to battle through the back ache and clean the house in the hope of starting something off...worth a try anyhow!

peanacat · 28/04/2019 15:41

I’m thinking I may actually hoover the house tomorrow to try and get things moving Grin

Dh is back at work tomorrow after the easter hols so will have to fill the time somehow other than bouncing on my bloody birthing ball sniffing clary sage!

littlethings1234 · 29/04/2019 17:49

How we all getting on ladies? Still waiting?

OP posts:
NannyPear · 29/04/2019 17:56

Yup. Losing bits of my mucus plug still and some on off cramping but it's been like this for almost a week now so I'm no longer excited about it! Braved soft play with my 2 year old today. Thankfully he was quite independent for a change :D

xJune88 · 29/04/2019 18:45

Nothing happening here! 38 weeks today..

littlethings1234 · 29/04/2019 19:31

Oooo @NannyPear at least that's something in terms of moving in the right direction! I started spotting yesterday evening so was really really hoping that perhaps it could be the start of something but nope, not even any BH today which is unusual.

38+3 and counting!!!

OP posts:
NannyPear · 29/04/2019 19:36

True @littlethings1234 ! I've been doing hypnobirthing so I'm gonna try get in the zone tonight and convince baby it's a safe and good time to come out! Will let you know if it works 🤣

Anyone doing anything else "proactive" (when we all know baby will come when baby is ready!)

newmumFeb17 · 29/04/2019 19:55

Hope it's ok if I join! 39 weeks today with baby number 2, so glad to hear it's not just me that feels like they are wasting days moping about!
I've been having so many Braxton Hicks, some that are really painful. But no other signs..
Was induced last time at 41 weeks and had an epidural straight away so never even felt a contraction - feels like I'm a first time mum again!
Looking forward to hearing some birth stories soon!

Sunshinegirl82 · 29/04/2019 20:02

Nada going on here! Had loads of BH last week but nothing today apart from the usual crippling pelvis pain! DS at nursery today so been able to rest and get some bits done.

Tomorrow I'm planning to change all the beds, let's see if that does anything (apart from making me feel like my pelvis might split in two).

peanacat · 29/04/2019 20:03

I actually got excited about having the squits today, lol! 😂 that is such a typical labour seeking symptom! Other than that nothing special, got a midwife appointment tomorrow though so I might mention that i’ve had on and off cramps and stuff in the hope she will take a look. I doubt she will though. I’d love for her to offer me a sweep but I guess she won’t be able to as I’m only 39+3 tomorrow!
And hello newmum it’s awful waiting isn’t it!

Nocturnalpearl · 29/04/2019 20:38

Due date today and nothing/zero/nada!
Baby is too comfy and I am too uncomfy! 😤
Back ache and pelvis pain but no signs of anything happening anytime soon!

Nocturnalpearl · 01/05/2019 14:29

Any progression with anyone? I'm still preggers! Confused

NannyPear · 01/05/2019 14:43

2 days over now??

Still pregnant too but not due for another 3 days. Had DS at 40+3 but I keep thinking about the fact I had a sweep before going into labour with him, and while we'll never know for sure if it kick started things I'm now wondering if I'll need a sweep this time round too! Was hoping to avoid one ("baby will come when baby is ready" mantra) but don't know if I can be so patient. Next appointment is at 40+5...

Nocturnalpearl · 01/05/2019 16:15

Nanny pear yes 2 days over now. Sweeps routinely offered at +8 here but I've asked for one earlier so hopefully Friday at 40+4. Hoping things get moving soon. Previous children were 41+1 and 40+4 for me. Hate the waiting 😖

RCC18 · 01/05/2019 20:11

Feeling very deflated today. 39+4 and saw the midwife today. She offered a sweep so I took it and, after having some weird feelings earlier in the week, i was convinced she would say things were at least heading in the right direction.

Quite the opposite in fact. My cervix is posterior and completely closed. So she couldn't do the sweep. I had the same with my 1st and was induced at 41+5. I was really hoping to avoid it this time but looks like I'm destined for it now.

Next appointment is a week Monday and she'll book my induction for the Thursday.

peanacat · 01/05/2019 20:46

Aww RCC thats a shame that she couldn’t do the sweep. I haven’t got another appointment until Tues when I’ll be 40+4 and she didn’t mention a sweep! Hopefully she will do one.

I feel as though I’ve been making progress, contractions and period type pains for a week now so surely that’s got to have done something, wish I knew what was going on in there!
