From first twinge to baby in your arms, how long were your labours?

Ds is due in a week and labour with DD was 30 hours total...hoping it will be quicker this time!

First 7 hours
Second less than 6.

Both were induced.
First was 7 days late (when we went to hospital) as my waters slowly started leaking but were green, so they broke them for me and gave me the gel and she was out on the morning of 8 days late.

Second I went in to be induced 2 days over due Saturday morning, nothing happened until they could break my waters 17:20 Sunday evening and he was born at 23:07!
Didn't have pains with either until my waters were broken and then they were instantly very intense and close together.

9 for first and 4 for second.

Child 1 - 8 hours
Child 2 - 7 hours
Child 3 - 4 hours
Child 4 - 1.5 hours

First was documented as 7hrs 9mins, second was 2hrs 22mins. They started differently too, first started with contractions 5mins apart. Second my waters went an hour before contractions started.

DuckBilledAardvark · 24/03/2018 20:11

2 hours for no.1 and 45min for no.2.

There will be no third, we’d never make it to hospital in time.

PinkAvocado · 24/03/2018 20:13

My first was under 15 minutes. I’m infamous locally Blush

Hoping this one will be longer!

MiniAlphaBravo · 24/03/2018 20:16

1st was 60 hours, 2nd was 5!! Sooooo much better 2nd time around, even though baby was back to back and got a bit stuck. Would have been even quicker if that hadn’t happened.

mindutopia · 29/03/2018 15:14

My first was 11.5 hours from waters breaking (contractions started after) to when she was born.

My 2nd was 9 hours from standing up out of the bed in the morning and getting a strong period cramp that became regular and then built into contractions until he was born.

First was 3 hrs and 51 minutes of on/off pushing though (still perfectly natural and fine birth, just took awhile for her to get in position). Second, gratefully, was only about 40-50 minutes of pushing.

Ds1 total labour was 2 hours 30 mins, second stage 1 hour 10 minutes
Ds2 total labour was 2 hours 45 mins, second stage 4 minutes
Ds3 total labour was 2 hours 25 minutes, second stage around 15- 20 minutes (really quite unsure of the second stage length with him tbh, because I lost my shit)

Derekmorganwasinmybed · 29/03/2018 15:19

1st 29 hours
2nd 18 hours
Both back to back

Wellthisunexpected · 29/03/2018 20:30

From first rumblings it was about a week, but from waters going it was 21 hours. Horrific. Hoping to argue for a section this time.

bunnyrabbit93 · 29/03/2018 20:34

1st 9 hrs official labour (12 hrs first twinge)

Tiddlywinks63 · 29/03/2018 20:36

dragonslair · 29/03/2018 20:40

paz1234 · 02/04/2018 04:30
