She doesn't have to shave the entire ladygarden area... they told me to shave the night before, but didn't tell me where to stop. They laughed at me the next day (in a nice, good natured way, but laughed all the same)

lissielou · 18/03/2007 18:28

ooh thanks squonk! hated the mw doing that for me

erm... ok

LilRedWG · 18/03/2007 18:31

They told me not to - they like to do the shaving in case of cuts, therefore infection. I'll email my birth plan to you tomorrow, with updates of what they would/would not do.

It really did feel like a birth and not an operation!

LilRedWG · 18/03/2007 18:31

So, you hated it then Lissie?

lissielou · 18/03/2007 18:33

dunno what happened there

Lissie - can you e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll e-mail over a guide to caesarean section that I did for a friend (I've had two!)

mustrunmore · 18/03/2007 18:37

I had an emergency first time, planned the second (overdue). With the planned one, I took nothing! Couldnt see the point! Only baby clothes and big knickers etc, and a bit of money. I figured that people would bring stuff in as and when I needed it, which they did. Made life so much simpler! First time, I took a whole load of things, like they tell you, and never used any of it! (music, mags, candles, lip balm, blah blah blah)

I did go for a wax a week before.... my advice is NOT to do it whilst pg... 100 times more painful! Armpits were fine, but I nearly had a heart attack with the bikini line, and once you've done part, you cant exactly give up!

lissielou · 18/03/2007 18:46

lol, thank you

have emailed you dances

Ive said it 100 times and i will say it again.....Get those huge disposable paper knickers, lots of them. They are fab, you dont have to struggle to get them off just tear them at the side and bin them.
They come above your wound, not on it...which is uncomfortable and can be painful.
fab fab fab.

LilRedWG · 18/03/2007 18:52

Lissie - it's on its way now.

LilRedWG · 18/03/2007 18:52

By the way - my ECS was at 38 weeks.

lulumama · 18/03/2007 18:52

arnica and asda value big granny pants !! make sure that the call bell is next to your hand, so you can call for assistance after the op should you need it....

LilRedWG · 18/03/2007 18:53

Or Asda big granny knickers! Cheap enough not to worry about chucking away! About £3 for ten pairs I think

LilRedWG · 18/03/2007 18:53

Snap Lulu!

lulumama · 18/03/2007 18:54
