Truth about second labour

Is there any truth in the anecdote about your second labour being about half the time of your first?

How quick were your first and second labours?

My first was six hours and I'm a bit apprehensive about the possibility of a three hour labour this time!

Whatever he needed resuscitation for, I'm glad he was able to get it immediately and be seen by a doctor. For that reason I will feel more safe and comfortable in hospital.

peace I understand feeling like that. I'm the same (we also live 30 minutes on a good day from our hospital). My 2nd dc was born not breathing & he had to be resuscitated. My pushing stage was longest with him but not by much in the case of #3 & 4 (the difference is minutes rather than half hours/hours).

Ultimately you have to do what you feel comfortable with.
