Testing the moaning on here to induce labour theory :p

Am 40+1 today, have never reached my due date before (this is DC4) was expecting to be a few weeks early so am feeling totally fed up now! I've had stop start contractions for weeks, been losing plug for weeks, midwife said yesterday that baby has turned back to back and this could be causing the stop start, so I'm now spending as much time as possible not relaxing like I want to and on all fours, which is bloody horrible. She did a sweep for me, said cervix is soft, low, few cm open. So all seems good to go, but it's not going and I'm going mad! Angry
I have seen many threads asking about getting labour going and moaning about non moving babies that result in things kicking off, so thought I'd give it a go. I might book the hairdresser for tomorrow or something.
Bloody baby

Thanks all and hello everyone who has joined-my sympathies to you. I'd like to try the acupuncture on ankles but can't reach my feet! I've tried my wrist though (there's another point there) and that possibly gave me one contraction this morning. Not much else since though. Guess I'm just not ready.
How's everyone else doing?

StormTr00per · 10/05/2016 08:45

Still hanging in there.. thought u felt some very mild cramps this morning but was probably just wishful thinking! If I hear one more "not long now" I'm gonna go all She-Hulk!

StormTr00per · 10/05/2016 08:47

thought I

lindseyyyy · 10/05/2016 09:56

Still here too. I keep having cramps irregularly but not sure if like u Storm it's wishful thinking & just baby moving.
At this stage do people think it's to best to keep busy & active or completely relax? I've got the urge to keep busy (tho I'm bored of strangers stopping me in the shops to comment) but I've read you're best to relax so the oxytocin kicks in?

Any updates from anyone?
2nd sweep done & I'm still here. Angry

StormTr00per · 12/05/2016 08:49

I hope something is happening for you. Another sweep for me tomoz & I plan on walking as much as I can stand over next few days to try & get head down more

StormTr00per · 12/05/2016 20:30

Nothing more than some very irregular contractions to get my hopes up, but doesn't lead to anything! For whatever reason they only seem to offer 1 sweep in my area.
Hope things work out for you and it starts getting moving soon Smile

Baby Hugo arrived at 8:16 this evening after induction. Not the birth I planned but was lovely in the end, he was back to back and came out looking up at the ceiling! But from 1st gel to delivery was only 4hrs and very manageable. Despite being an eye watering 9lb 6.5oz! Not a tear or stitch in sight (stupidly proud of that bit! Grin) he is gorgeous and chubby and feeding like a trooper.
I hope things move for everyone else soon! X

Congratulations

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 12/05/2016 23:18

Sorry early post!!!
Love the name! And I'd be proud of the no tears or stitches too Smile well done!

chaosagain · 13/05/2016 09:37

Congrats, Under - sounds like you'd made a lot of progress before the gel kicked things into final stages.
Enjoy newborn snuggles! And nice one with the no stitches. I had that with my second and it made the recovery time so short and easy.

(Unlike this time where they took 45 mins to repair me after the birth and when I asked how many stitches the obstetrician said he wasn't sure and I probably didn't want to know!)

lindseyyyy · 13/05/2016 10:41

Well done Under! Sounds like a good birth & I love the name. No stitches makes such a difference to recovery & made me feel strangely proud! Even tho my family tease me for having a tunnel fanny!Blush
Just had a show, which I had 3 days before labour with DC1 so am hoping it's a good omen.
Chaos you must be so frustrated! If it's any consolation I don't think the sweeps have done anything

lindseyyyy · 13/05/2016 11:20

Storm not chaos!Hmm
