Congratulations blue! Enjoy your beautiful newborn baby.

That's a huge amount of blood lost. Take things easy and I hope they are looking after you well in high dependency.

Thankyou all Grin
Spinal has wore off now so I am in alot of pain, I have a catheter, a balloon and some packing in ATM so they're coming to take all that out soon and that will hopefully relieve the pain and i will be on my feet by this evening
The staff are all absolutely amazing I can not fault one of them!
Just can't wait to be able to hold baby properly and feed and change him, feel like a bit of a spare part ATM!

How are you and baby doing Jucy?

Congratulations! Take it easy, hope you are back on your feet soon.

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 04/11/2015 11:05

Congratulations!

The spinal tends to wear off very quickly indeed and when it does, it's all at once. I had a spinal with both of my emcs and by the time I was back on the ward, usually an hour or so later, I had full sensation back. You go from the very weird feeling of half your body not belonging to you to the exquisite sensation of your rather bruised and battered body absolutely belonging to you. Are they providing you with adequate pain relief? Do not be afraid to ask if you're in pain. You won't recover properly if you're wasting energy on hurting.

You've been through the mill and lost a lot of blood on top of a quick (in the end!) labour. You should take it easy and listen to your body. Don't be too proud to ask for help. Your sole goals atm are your health and enjoying the new baby boy you made.

Well done!

Jucymyname · 04/11/2015 13:26

We're just waiting for paediatrician to do the checks and then we can go home, so I'm very happy about that. Baby slept 6 hours in the morning after epic night feed. And is sleeping again.
Have a good rest blue and use all the help you can get.

SummerHouse · 04/11/2015 13:32

No! I am well excited. The lack of action just adds to the suspense. Would be boring if you just said come over everyone for live birth thread only to update two hours later with baby news.

What's happening now?

[Gets popcorn]

SummerHouse · 04/11/2015 13:35

Somehow only managed to read page 1...!

Ignore previous. Makes no sense at all!

Congrats! Flowers

Oooh Cornish, how goes it?!

Dogsmom · 04/11/2015 22:40

Congratulations Flowers

This thread really makes you realise how dramatic births can be, you were posting at 5.40 about your contractions then 4 hours later you had your little boy and were in theatre!
Hope you're getting plenty of cuddles now.x

blackkat1978 · 04/11/2015 23:45

Congratulations blue & looking forward to reading a positive update from you too Cornish when you've got nothing else to do!)

cornishglos · 05/11/2015 19:01

Thank you all for the support. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I couldn't get onto mn on my phone. Home now!
Avoided induction by contractions starting properly at 1.30am. Progressed very quickly and arrived at hospital at 5am, fully dilated. Unfortunately there were no baths available so had to do it on dry land. Only gas and air. Intense! Baby girl born at 6am on Wednesday morning. All well.
Blue, so sorry it got scary for you. What a trooper you are!

Pointlessfan · 05/11/2015 19:38

Congratulations Cornish!

MaisieDotes · 05/11/2015 19:55

Congratulations Cornish !! Smile Smile

Thanks for coming back and updating!

MythologicalPersonage · 05/11/2015 20:05

Congratulations Cornish! It's great to hear your good news.

blackkat1978 · 05/11/2015 20:17

Congratulations Cornish glad so read you managed to avoid induction x

BlueBananas · 05/11/2015 20:22

Yay congratulations Cornish and so glad you had a nice straightforward labour Smile
Flowers for you, get lots of rest!

Thanks for all the congratulations everyone!
Unfortunately we're still in hospital and it's looking like we'll be here until at least Sunday as the swabs from my placenta came back that I had Group Strep B, so due to that and the fact that baby had over 24 hours with no waters he needs to have intravenous antibiotics for a while
Feel like I've aged 10 years, just feels never ending!
But all the lovely messages are making me smile in those lonely wee hours when someone else's baby has woke me up! Hmm so thanks all!
