Sounds ok to me. Good work Blue! I'm just enjoying the novelty of thinking and coping through (the start of) labour so far. Last time it really was excrutiating from start to finish. I know what you mean about the damp bum - waters been going for 10 hours now!

PennyHasNoSurname · 03/11/2015 07:55

Have you been given a time to return to the Hospital OP?

SirChenjin · 03/11/2015 08:09

Cornish and Blue - can't you just do a big cough or something, this is most inconsiderate of you Grin

All the very best for today Smile

cornishglos · 03/11/2015 08:17

Thank you. Feels like it's stopped! But they want me in to check it was waters, so going in about 10am. Hope it starts again, don't fancy induction!

MaisieDotes · 03/11/2015 08:55

Good luck to you both! Keep us updated Smile

BlueBananas · 03/11/2015 09:11

Haha sorry Sir I am trying to move things along trust me!

I've got to go back at 5:30 tonight (because that'll be 24 hours after my waters broke) if nothing's happened which the option of being induced
I really want to avoid induction so I'm racing them, nipple stimulation and jogging up and down the stairs are the order of the day!

Good luck to you both- it's interesting though, both of you are second births, but it always seems from MN threads that 2nd ones tend to be much more rapid! You are the exceptions to the rule!
Hope you meet your babies very soon.

BlueBananas · 03/11/2015 10:06

InFrance this is my 3rd, my 2nd was very nearly born in the car so she was definitely in keeping with the rules haha

Good luck both of you! How exciting!

BlueBananas · 03/11/2015 10:24

Thankyou for all the well wishes everyone! Apparently labour makes me have no manners!

I'm in the bath twiddling my nipples thumbs, tiz pretty boring this labour business isn't it?!
How you getting on Cornish?

OP posts:
MaisieDotes · 03/11/2015 10:27

Labour definitely makes me have no manners! Grin

MythologicalPersonage · 03/11/2015 13:04

Good luck blue and cornish! I hope that things are progressing nicely.

Cornish my back to back labour was exactly as you described. I was on my hands and knees and unable to speak after the first few contractions. I am so glad to hear that this labour has been a completely different experience.

TheGreenNinja · 03/11/2015 13:08

Good luck both of you! My waters went 36 hours before labour started with my third, hospital were happy to wait until 72 hours if there were no signs of infection. In the end, dc3 arrived after a very easy 2-3hour labour, hope same happens for you!

cornishglos · 03/11/2015 13:23

I'm booked in for induction tomorrow morning so hoping to get going before then. Very little going on so I'm off out for a walk then into the bath with DH... signing off for a bit. Hoping Blue has more luck than me!

Jucymyname · 03/11/2015 16:37

Good luck to you ladies! I hope everything will go according to plan. Keep us posted!

cornishglos · 03/11/2015 17:06

How are you doing Blue? Not a lot going on here. Getting worried about induction now as I really wanted to be in water...

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 03/11/2015 17:11

Both of my labours started with my waters going. First was excruciating from the very beginning (back to back and then transverse) and took 31 hours before I had an emcs. Second wasn't painful at all really but took 38 hours before I had an emcs.

The waiting around can be so frustrating.

Best of luck both of you!

BlueBananas · 03/11/2015 17:41

I'm heading back into hospital now for a possible induction but I've been contracting every 4-6 minutes for about 1&1/2 hours now so hopefully I won't need it!
Get bouncing on your ball Cornish and keep us posted!

Ememem84 · 03/11/2015 17:53

Good luck both!!! Keep us posted obviously as you'll have nothing else to do

cornishglos · 03/11/2015 18:14

Very very best of luck to you Blue. Sounds good. I'm getting very tired now and just want to go to sleep...

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 03/11/2015 18:18

Good luck, both of you!

LadyNymeriaGhost · 03/11/2015 18:42

Best of luck, both.

blackkat1978 · 03/11/2015 19:08

Good luck ladies x

BlueBananas · 04/11/2015 03:28

Update!
Didn't have the induction in the end as contractions came thick and fast by the time we got to hospital!

Baby Zachary was born at 9:40pm weighing 8lb 11oz

Had him with no pain relief atall then had a bit of a mare afterwards when they couldn't get the placenta out so I ended up in theatre where I then heamorraged and lost over 2 litres of blood
I'm on the high dependency unit now, still numb from the waist down which is an utterly bizarre feeling, but looking at this beautiful boy next to me I'd do it all again tomorrow for him Smile

Ooo that got a bit long didn't it!
Thankyou for all the well wishes and Cornish I hope it's not too long for you! Do keep us updated, good luck!

I hope you're feeling okay. That sounds tough...but luckily so are you!

Lots of love and rest for you!
