And was it through choice? ie did you get offered an induction at any point?

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 14/10/2006 22:19

10 days, began induction on day 9.

burstingbug · 14/10/2006 22:20

6 days with ds1 and 9 days with ds2. booked in both times for induction at 10 days. Luckily having a date set scared them out

deeno · 14/10/2006 22:21

13 days, induction booked for 11 days

SCARErenity · 14/10/2006 22:22

DS1 - 8 days, nothing booked
DS2 - induced at 10 days because I gave in, and didn't know any better
DD - 11 days, they wanted to do induction at 14 days but I was still umming and ahhing to keep them off my back (they wanted me to come in everyday from day 15, to be scanned - that was either a 45 minute car journey plus congestion charge and parking fees or a hour/half bus journey all fitted neatly between three school runs! Don't think so....)

mmmmchocolate · 14/10/2006 22:22

not got hosp chat appointment till 9 days over. and i am sure i will have to be induced!

Induced at 15 days over - DD born at 17 days over by emergency caesarian. Wanted to do things on her terms and still true today...

colditz · 14/10/2006 22:29

16 days with 1st, 12 with second. Was offered an induction at 14 days with both.

colditz · 14/10/2006 22:31

With first, waters broke on day 14, so I didn't have much choice. With second I would have held out until about 18 days. Our family has late but healthy babies. Neither baby looked remotely post mature when born.

Peridot30 · 14/10/2006 22:37

DS was 10days overdue and DD was 11 days overdue and both were induced. So definately not trying for another as DO NOT WANT INDUCED AGAIN!

2Babies0Bumps · 14/10/2006 22:41

4 days with 2nd.
1st was early.

hunkermunster · 14/10/2006 22:42

DS1 - 10 days over, induction booked for 12 days over.

DS2 - 4 days over, induction booked for 6 days over (I had gestational diabetes with DS2 so they didn't want me to go longer than that).

kittythescarygoblin · 14/10/2006 22:52

3 weeks

VanillaMilkshake · 14/10/2006 23:25

10 days, went in for induction to find I was 4cm's and was sent straight down to labour ward!

BlueberryPancake · 15/10/2006 08:27

I was initially booked for induction at day 11 but managed to postpone the scheduled induction to day 14.

However, at day 12, the baby was showing signs of distress (heartbeat was 'dipping' when I was having practice contractions) so I was induced there and then.

The labour and birth didn't go very well and ended up with an emergency c section, because Baby's heartbeat was very low. Ended up giving birth 13 days past due date.

BlueberryPancake · 15/10/2006 08:27

Forgot to say, baby was absolutely fine, good agpar score and in excellent health.

coppertop · 15/10/2006 08:29

10 days with ds1. Induction was started on day 7 because I'd been having problems with my BP.

juuule · 15/10/2006 08:32

Overdue with all 9. Anywhere between 2 and 14 days.
I have been induced twice, once at 13days and once at 14days. Was advised to be induced with one baby at 10days over but she decided to put in an appearance 6 hours before my appt to be induced.

katiebirdie · 15/10/2006 09:23

10 days over andsame as QQS, began induction at 9 days. If there is a next time I am refusing induction and will hang on a bit longer!

TuttiFrutti · 15/10/2006 11:00

megandsoph · 15/10/2006 11:02

jetgirl · 15/10/2006 20:30

11 days, was booked for an induction at 17 days - bank holiday weekend meant they couldn't do at it 14 days! Pleased I didn't have to be induced but I went mad at having to wait - I hate being late for anything!

holidaysoon · 15/10/2006 20:36

jetgirl I'm a bit they made you wait for a bank holiday. I remember having the "since you won't induce me on Christmas day when will you do it?" convo with my midwife. I didn't need an induction in the end but she insisted Christmas Day was no bar to them. I had secretly concluded they would have gone for Christmas Eve or Boxing day in preference though.
