What does it mean if your waters break and the first bit has blood in it !?!

I hope someone is up and can help....I know green and brown waters is a sign of concern...I don't remember them saying anything about starting off red water, now it is still going but clear.

And how soon will I go into labour now !?!

Oh I'm pretty sure I am having contractions now, two so far... I might stay up a bit and see how things go !!!

I had a response on another board which told me not to worry about the blood bit,. it proberly was a show.

Have you rung the labour ward now your waters have broken, wouldn't worry about it having blood in it. Congratulations by the way, looks like baby is on its way. Take care, make sure your bag's packed and ring your labour ward.

Alibaldi · 17/08/2006 04:38

Oh and if your contractions get closer together don't forget to time them.

BabiesEverywhere · 17/08/2006 04:59

Thanks Alibaldi

My bag is already packed but as I'm hopefully having a home birth, I don't need to ring the hospital just yet.

My contractions are mild and are about 10 minutes apart so I'm going back to bed and aiming to get some sleep or rest if possible

Fantastic, get some good sleep. I'm glad you're going for a home birth I wish I'd been allowed to classed as too old for first ds. Ha ha. Will wait with baited breath for the birth announcement.

BabiesEverywhere · 17/08/2006 05:05

I was classed as too fat (size 18) amd unsuitable for home birth as this is my first baby but luckily the nice consultant at the hospital OK'd it

I might change my mind and transfer to hospital if it all gets too much, but I wanted to start at home for as long as possible

Good Night

What do they know Sleep tight and all the best. Lots of deep breathing worked for me and gas and air that's all I had. You can do it.

BabiesEverywhere · 17/08/2006 08:28

Contractions are now every 5/6 minutes and I feel better from more sleep and a shower

OOOOO! (didn't I bet on 17th Aug )

Remember, boy and 8lb 3oz .. that bottle of wine WILL be mine...

CheesyFeet · 17/08/2006 12:22

I spoke to BE about an hour ago - the contractions have slowed down but she is in very good spirits. She had sent her dh out for supplies and as I speak she is probably doing brisk circuits of the garden to get things moving.

She is just relieved that things have started, she is desperate for a home birth and was dreading the possibility of induction.

Come on baby Bert, out you come

GeorginaA · 17/08/2006 12:22

Send her my love, CheesyFeet And tell her to get a move on, she's got 12 hours left for me to win my wine

GeorginaA · 17/08/2006 12:23

GeorginaA · 17/08/2006 12:27
