By accident of course.
He was due on the 21st, so stayed put until after the festivities then made his grand appearance at 7.03am after I stepped out of my 'relaxing/pass the time bath'.
I woke with cramps and the urge to be sick at 6am.

Ds (6), dd(4) and dh were there. I still can't believe it.

My bathroom babe is over 2 now. Congrats.
His big brother still talks about the day the ambulance came to help baby.
Who delivered baby?
Enjoy newborn cuddles

PrammyMammy · 29/12/2013 17:27

I'm fine now, a bit like 'did that really happen'.
There were no midwives. Dh called triage saying I thought I needed to push and they called me an ambulance, at that point I didn't know if I was just being dramatic and didnt want to take anyone else's ambulance. Next think his head was out and dh was shouting yes to the ambulance.
The midwife stayed on the phone and helped. My dad was coming to pick the dc up and almost went into shock when he walked through the door after speaking on the phone 20 minutes before, I can only imagine how that felt haha.

ahh congrats xxxx

A few days short of his second birthday - but the paramedics turned up before baby, so he didn't really see anything iyswim? He also remembers being fed cake and custard for breakfast that day. I've only confirmed his memories if he brings it up, not started the conversation.

Congrats on your unassisted birth. Its been suggested I go for a planned homebirth if I have another - and call at the first twitch. Were not having another, but think DH got it tougher than me last time - and thats not normal!

You got a name?

mintyneb · 29/12/2013 18:05

Congratulations! 3 years ago I delivered a neighbours baby in her bathroom.... well more like caught the baby as the mum was standing up at the time thinking she was just having a contraction!!

It was another 5 - 10 mins before a paramedic arrived. Apart from having my own DD it was the most amazing experience of my life, one never to be forgotten.

Hope all is going well now :-)

FortyMerryFuckers · 29/12/2013 18:08

Congratulations Grin

PrammyMammy · 29/12/2013 18:09

You know, one of the first things dc told me was that they got crisps in a tube at their gp's. I can just imagine my dad flapping about trying to think of breakfast, seeing the Pringles and thinking that will be good enough. Cake sounds much tastier to me though haha.
Yes he is called Benjamin.

Minty, dh said that too, it was an unbelievable experience. I can only imagine. Were you round visiting or did you need to rush through? Good you were at hand. We're you a hero on the labour ward?

Hello, Benjamin, Welcome to the world.
Please don't make a habit of surprising Mummy like that. It does nothing for her blood pressure.
Thanks for muumy
