By accident of course.
He was due on the 21st, so stayed put until after the festivities then made his grand appearance at 7.03am after I stepped out of my 'relaxing/pass the time bath'.
I woke with cramps and the urge to be sick at 6am.

Ds (6), dd(4) and dh were there. I still can't believe it.

I got a knock on the door from the neighbours mum who was visiting from overseas saying call an ambulance, x is in labour and wants to push!!! I called 999 and whilst on the phone rushed to neighbours house to find her standing in the bathroom gently swaying. The operator asked if we could feel the head but at that stage I didn't fancy finding out:-)

Anyway the short story is that the baby came out with the next contraction and I have never tried so hard in my life to make a good catch! Then my mind was in a spin about what to do next but the baby started breathing by herself thank god. The cord had snapped though due to the fall so the bathroom ended up looking like a scene from pyscho!

After what seemed like ages help arrived and I could stop panicking. Mum and baby had to go to hospital to deliver the placenta and check the baby as the paramedic mistakenly thought I had dropped her. Grr

One of the best memories was that the mum said 'I'm glad it was you' as I was leaving

Congratulations! Glad to hear you are OK and not too freaked out by the whole thing; it sounds pretty overwhelming. Lovely name!

Congratulations Flowers

A friend of mine delivered her DD in her bathroom three weeks ago, assisted by her DH. Again by accident not design. Apparently her bathroom floor may never recover...!

Oh congratulations.Flowers

When I had DS2 DH suggested a relaxing bath, as I was feeling unwell, but I just had a feeling that I wanted to go to hospital. It was just as well I did because he was born 20 minutes after we got there, after 3 contractions!

All these babies in a hurry!

Aw, congratulations and welcome to Benjamin. Flowers

Takes me back, DS3 was born 20 minutes after I was woken up by the waters breaking, 10 mins before the ambulance got there. A bit scary and shocking but better than a long, drawn out labour. even if I did have to throw away the mattress He's 11 now.
