Unbiased opinions needed for birth day

Hi, need some opinions. Having a planned c-section on Tuesday. 3rd ds. Ds1 will be at school, ds2 looked after by grandma during that day. Dh with me whilst actual operation happening. Now we would like sons to be first to meet new brother - has to be after school, but my mum who is concerned for me wants to be there. We are fine with her being at hospital and popping head in quickly to check all ok, but think boys need to be first to meet the new little man properly. She is now getting all upset and saying she is being pushed out. We did this with the other two and now she says she felt pushed out then too. Not the case at all, after initial meeting I'll be glad if she's there loads as dh will be looking after the other 2 ds of course to keep them happy and not pushed out. Any advice? Are we being unreasonable?

You've posted in Baby Names, Melonmoonmum. I'd suggest you report the post to MN and hopefully they can move it for you.

Hi there, we've moved this into Childbirth for you now. Thanks.

I would say it's your call. I don't think your mum is very fair to let you know this bothers her.

YouSmegHead · 06/10/2012 14:32

Could your mum bring them in so it's the three of them at the same time?

ShobGiteTheKnid · 06/10/2012 14:34

Stick to whatever works best for you.

I think you should say something along the lines of 'oh mum, pushed out how silly to feel that way, of course you'll be in to see me/ new baby ASAP but not until the siblings have all met its much more important that they are happy and feel special than worrying about us grown ups feelings isn't it? Anyway enough about this as the decisions been made. Now tell me about.... (insert some bit of neighbour gossip or something here). For what its worth I also think its pretty shitty of your mum, a grown woman to be stressing you out over this and think your doing it right by having the kids meet first, its what I'm doing when no2 arrives any day now.
