If you had a planned section, what time was your baby born?

I'm booked in for an elcs on Friday...twins and both are breech. My information pack says approx 3 sections are planned for the morning but obviously this can change if they have any emergencies.

I was just trying imagine that time my babies might be born.

I was squeezed in as the 4th in a morning. DS (also breech) was born at 11am. They'll do you during working hours though - possiby delay you to the afternoon if they do get emergencies in.

purpleroses · 01/10/2012 22:40

And goodluck by the way!

YeahBuddy · 01/10/2012 22:43

I had to be at the hospital for 7.30am and I was the second elective section of the day. There were no emergencies and my twins arrived at 11.57 and 11.58am. Can't believe that was almost a year ago...

Anyway, congrats and good luck Grin

From what I can gather there were 2 planned sections on the day DD was pencilled in. As me and XP got the hospital before the other couple we were first in the queue and DD was whipped out at 9:30am.

However 2 years before that I was one of those annoying emergency sections that buggers up the theatre schedule for the rest of the day!

OvO · 01/10/2012 22:45

First and third time I was booked as first on the list but wasn't first either time and my DS's were born at 11.10am and 11.51am. Second section was in the evening (different circumstances).

TheOriginalNutcracker · 01/10/2012 22:46

I had Dd1 at 11:10am and Ds at 1:36 pm (i was sooooo hungry lol).

Claire2009 · 01/10/2012 22:46

I had to be at the hospital for 7am, I was prep'd for 9.30/10am, DS was nprn at 11.20am

PinkChampagneandStrawberries · 01/10/2012 22:46

Twins are usually the 1st on the theatre list as it is slightly more complicated that just one baby but some surgeons like to have them as the last on the list. I know that's not really helpful sorry. Good luck

MerylStrop · 01/10/2012 22:48

6pm. But I was very unlucky - last on the list and bumped for several emergencies. I was ravenous! Had been nil by mouth from midnight!
With twins it's likely that you will be first up.

Good luck!

Claire2009 · 01/10/2012 22:51

*born - having serious spelling issues tonight Blush

aloysiusflyte · 01/10/2012 22:54

I had to be in hospital for 7.30am, had to wait for ages watching daytime tv as another lady went first, ds was born at 11.55am. From my experience, elcs was a very relaxed and organised proceedure.
Good luck!

stillwaitingforthesummer · 01/10/2012 22:54

I was first on the list (of 3), went in for 8am expecting to have my baby by 9, but DS2 wasn't born until 1.30 (I went to theatre at 1) - they needed the theatre for an emergency (not an obstetric one). Small hospital though with only 2 operating theatres.

Imnotaslimjim · 01/10/2012 22:57

I was listed as last, but was bumped to first when the MW read my notes and discovered I had a latex allergy. DD arrived at 10.15am

TwelveLeggedWalk · 01/10/2012 22:58

Aww, how exciting. There is an under/over/around 1 twin survival thread in Multiple Births so come and join us if you feel like you need some company!

Pourquoimoi · 01/10/2012 22:58

I seem to have been lucky. I was first on the list on a Monday morning and DS2 was born at 10.10am. Not sure when I had to be there but it must have been after 8am as we took DS1 to nursery first.
Good Luck! (Look out for the amazing feeling of relief as your internal organs spread out again after months of being squashed)Grin

Theenormouscrocodile · 01/10/2012 22:59

In at 7.30am & DS born around 4.45pm. I was blinking starving!!

PetiteRaleuse · 01/10/2012 23:01

My ob gyn plans sections and other ops for early morning before clinic. I will be going in the night before and expect surgery to happen at around 7, depending on emergencies.

ruthiemacp · 01/10/2012 23:02

Hi, I had planned, was taken in night before as I had gestational diabetes, and they couldn't let me starve too long! Was wheeled down to theatre, up on the table at 8.30am for spinal block and Harry was passed to me at 9.11, amazing, enjoy it ;-) xxx

starfishmummy · 01/10/2012 23:07

16.10

Due to a big mix up by the registrar I had to ring at 7.30 am to find out what time they wanted me, which was just before lunchtime. Then the "emergency" happened so i had to wait. I was starving (and thirsty) but having a general so couldn't have anything.

Spinaroo · 01/10/2012 23:08

11.17 Smile

marshmallowpies · 01/10/2012 23:12

Mine was breech too, walked into hospital at about 7.15, DD appeared 9.21.

I had a swig of water and tea at some point after being taken into recovery but when lunch came round...my word how I fell on that food!

Wiggy29 · 02/10/2012 07:37

Sorry to crash thread Blush but am I right in thinking you can't eat from 12 the night before (knew this) but also that you can't drink??? Shock Obviously by drink I mean milk/ water etc, not a G&T. Grin

AlphabetiSpaghetti · 02/10/2012 07:57

Booked in for 8am, DS born 4pm due to emergencies. I was thirsty and starving too! As frustrating as it was, we stayed calm and happy and understanding and as a result got all sorts of perks and special treatment Grin

If you do get pushed back, just smile and be understanding. Being arsey gets you nowhere! Good luck!

AlphabetiSpaghetti · 02/10/2012 07:59

wiggy I'm trying to remember. I was told to get up at midnight and have some beans on toast, then at 2am for a cup of tea. I managed the midnight munchies but slept through the tea so didn't have a drink until I was in recovery at about 6.
