If you went into labour naturally more than once, how did the timing compare?

With DS1, I went into labour at 39+4, so I was kind of hoping this time around it would be similar (or even earlier).

39+4 today, and nothing is happening. I'm very sure of my dates for each pregnancy, so don't think that's the reason. I know all pregnancies are different, and even different for the same woman, and I've no business being annoyed because I'm not even overdue yet!

So please indulge and distract me, how big a variation did you have if you went into labour naturally 2 or more times?

whatsonyourplate · 15/07/2012 14:58

JustFabulous · 15/07/2012 15:27

DS1 - EMCS.
DD1- VBAC at 40 + 6.
DS2 - VBAC at 38 + 7 (though really he was 4 weeks late)

I went into labour at 9.30pm with both VBACs. 24 hours later DD was born. DS was born 12 3/4 hours later.

motherinferior · 15/07/2012 15:37

DD1 two days early (would have been three days but she took bloody ages, vile ventouse in the end); DD2 16 days early, v straightforward home birth.

BeehavingBaby · 15/07/2012 15:42

38+4
39+4
39ish

Rikalaily · 15/07/2012 15:45

All four of mine were spontanious labours.

Ds - 35 weeks
Dd1 - 39+5
Dd2 - 40+1 (went into labour on my due date)
Dd3 - 40+3

My pregnancies are getting longer each time, lol.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 15/07/2012 15:55

DD 40+4
DS 39+4

EugenesAxe · 15/07/2012 16:02

Both were exactly the same; 40 + 6, but to be fair, my due date was brought forward by 4 days at the dating scan of DC2.

I have a short cycle (c. 25 days) so if that should have happened for DC1 and they didn't bother, the labours were really 40 +10 and 40 +6. I think... I am getting a little confused.

DD2 40 bang on her due date

With DD1 labour started round 2am, with DD2 labour started round 5am. Both born just after 9am.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 15/07/2012 16:05

I had two spontaneous labours (and one induction at 40+10) They were both overdue - 40+8 and 40+11, but both started up at 1.30am Grin

JustGettingByMum · 15/07/2012 19:02

3 pregnancies, each time baby came on the Wednesday before their due date

YankNCock · 15/07/2012 19:29

There's not really a pattern, is there..... Though seems to be quite a few who went later with subsequent pregnancies? Guess I will take that as a sign to be prepared to wait a while longer. Scheduled for induction two weeks from tomorrow if he doesn't show up--and it's my bloody birthday that day!
