This happened 5 minutes ago whilst on the loo (sorry tmi). I went back to the loo to see if anymore and I heard a splash but didn't try to wee and didn't feel anything. Had pressure in bottom all of yesterday and very very slight ackey lower back but nothing that is really bothering me. Do I need to do anything?? Am freaking out here... Xx

Don't panic. It could be a while before anything real happens. The achey back could be the start of some mild contractions, but it may be a few days before anything real actually happens so try to relax.

Flisspaps · 11/07/2012 16:05

Could be a week or more before anything happens.

It is very important that you:
Sit down comfortably
Drink a cup of tea that's hot
Go for a wee without worrying that someone is going to cry

Soon these things will be a distant memory. Oh, and eat biscuits, just because you can Grin

nickelbarapasaurus · 11/07/2012 16:09

it could be a week.
it could be hours.

it all depends.

go for a walk and then sit down with a cup of tea.

and everything that Fliss just said Grin

Only advice is could be weeks, I had a show, went to maternity unit, examined by midwife, I was 3cm, she told me to come back when contracting, waved me off with a wink and said I'll see you in the next 24hours, pah 4 weeks + 1 day later I had DD (I was 37wks at the time of the show)

Yorky · 11/07/2012 16:24

Good luck Bonnyone, I posted this 3 months ago, hadn't hada notiuceable show in 1st 3 pgs so was completely in the dark as to what to expect when!
I went from show to baby in 24hrs - but she was my 4th!

Bonnyone · 11/07/2012 18:12

Oh dear god it's getting worse. Have constant period pain and keep getting v painful lower back pains. Is this likely to disappear? Btw I'm 38+2

Flisspaps · 11/07/2012 18:48

If its getting worse, and regular-ish, then it probably will go.

Once you've given birth.

Have a bath and paracetamol.
Visualise your cervix like a polo neck sweater, slowly widening and thinning to a round neck T shirt
Get excited about meeting your baby :)

How are you feeling op? Any action yet? Grin

Bonnyone · 12/07/2012 09:12

Well I am the proud owner of a DS!! Started having pains about 4.30 yesterday afternoon. Got to hospital at 11pm and was already 5cm then got to 10cm in
Half hour and the little man popped out at 01.10 this morning weighing 6lb12oz. It was too late for any pain relief and so I had to do it without!! Am in love Smile
