I'm in hospital having contractions at 33 weeks. Just woken up with strong pains again so back on monitor. Anyone about?

Morning - ooh, exciting GothKat! I've got a friend who seems to spontaneously go into labour at 33 wks.

Excellent post by SOH re labour up there. You'll be fine McPhee. I was practically birth phobic when I got pregnant, but I had two good births and bizarrely quite enjoyed them. Hypnobirthing helped.

On delivery. Contracting every. 5 mins. Not sure if I'm dilating as noone has come to see me since I came down. Gonna need drugs soon.

oh my goodness - things are happening Grin

you're going to meet your gorgeous girl very soon, how lovely

hope someone gets down on to the ward to check on you soon

is your DP coming in, or will he have his hands full with the other DCs?

Sirzy · 22/05/2012 05:08

Hope everything is going well x

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 05:19

I'm hoping that someone comes to check on me soon and maybe take a look to see if I'm dilating. Then my parents can go over to mine and dp will be able to come over.

don't forget to tell him to bring marmite Grin

vigglewiggle · 22/05/2012 05:33

Good luck! I love the name Elsie Marmite May!

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 05:37

Lol! Just had a moan! Contractions are painful but noone has been to see me since I came down. I don't know which midwife is looking after me, I don't know if I'm dilating and I'm on consultant led unit!!!!!Hmm

Nothing constructive to add sgk but good luck, I was on the Nov 07 antenatal thread with you many moons (well, 4.5 years!) ago (I had a different name then)

TanteRose · 22/05/2012 06:08

3 hours?? Shock

is no-one about?

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 06:16

Doc came in and said 'oh it all stopped when you got down here!' I have called to asked for pain relief. I'm contracting!! It hasn't stopped Angry but I'm not dilating.

TanteRose · 22/05/2012 06:23

OK so, does it all indicate that you will deliver this baby soon, or are they just waiting to see if you stop contracting?

I was contracting and dilating at 32 weeks with my DS, but they put me on a 24 hour drip for 3 weeks (hospital stay) and I carried to term in the end.

They should at least give some more information (and some drugs!) so that you know whether or not to call your DP

Iwasagnome · 22/05/2012 06:32

Good luck with everything.

TanteRose · 22/05/2012 07:05

everything OK,SGK?

heliumballoon · 22/05/2012 07:13

Good morning Sparkly, did you get that pain relief? I bloody hope so.

chipmunksex · 22/05/2012 07:15

How exciting, scream and say feck as much as you like and a baby. Grin

BTW I was born at 33 weeks 40 years ago-medical miracle at the time- routineish now. Hmm

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 07:41

I'm going back upstairs to ward. Contractions have stopped.

OP posts:
McPhee · 22/05/2012 08:18

Well at least you get to have marmite

chipmunksex · 22/05/2012 10:28

You've gone very quiet-I hope it means you're too busy having a baby to post.

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 11:33

No I was sleeping. All stopped.
