Going back to bed now but will log on later to see how you are sparkly. Elsie is a lovely name.

My mum's name is Elsie. I definitely approve!

(She hasn't got a middle name. "November" wouldn't have been very successful.)

McPhee · 22/05/2012 03:16

Marmite is my friend. If anyone messes with my friend I get hormonal Blush

Marmite cheese is rather yummy too Grin

Maples, I think I'm scared I'm going to sound like someone is murdering me Blush

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 03:17

ATM they don't want to examine me in case it triggers full labour but been contracting all day since lunchtime.

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 03:18

Dp is sleeping ATM. He took the kids home to keep them in routine and to take them to school tomorrow

Sorry. I have these moments when I quietly freak out Blush

ShowOfHands · 22/05/2012 03:27

Oh I had no idea at all you were pregnant. Brilliant news. Only the other day on a thread about who was prolific when you joined MN, I was saying to lisad that you and her and misdee were always around back then. I was then wondering where you are. You had a slightly different name back then.

About 8 months ago I had a spontaneous and premature rupture of membranes at about this time of night and posted sporadically for the next 37hrs...

Of course 8 months later, the product of all that hoohaa thinks that 3am is a perfectly reasonable hour to get up and demand friffing crumpets.

McPhee · 22/05/2012 03:29

Grin @ friffing crumpets

It's a good job he's jeffing cute. I'm Not Swearing. Can you tell?

McPhee, when you're in labour it doesn't matter if you scream so loud the ceiling tiles fall or if you're silent throughout. It's the one time in your life that you behave in whatever way you need to with no regard for expectation or what anybody else does. Your own labour will be completely unique to you and that baby and there is no right or wrong. And what does it feel like? Aaaaaah. I've had two children and two very long labours. One was almost totally painfree, one was, erm, sore. Grin It's a productive and useful pain or something or other and if you don't like it and don't want it any longer then there are drugs. You don't get a medal for doing it drugfree. You get a baby same as everybody else.

Sparkly, when in labour with ds they gave me a couple of speculum exams to check progress without interfering with me too much. In fact in a 37hr labour I only had one internal and that was during the emcs prep.

SparklyGothKat · 22/05/2012 03:45

Yea they did that a few hours ago. Wasn't dilating. I would rather have an ve than that tho.

duchesse · 22/05/2012 03:54

Haven't read the thread but presume you've had steroids etc... I hope they manage to halt the labour, but 33 weeks is a very good gestation for a premature baby if not. Good luck!
