Just had a massive blob of discharge when I went to the toilet but it was 100% clear - no blood or anything.

Could this be a show???????

Am 40 wks + 1 today

skinnycow · 05/12/2005 11:02

yes! did it look like pork pie jelly>?

doormat · 05/12/2005 11:02

could be, ask midwife to check you out
my shows were clear but had a tinge of blood in them

Nemoinapeartree · 05/12/2005 11:03

can be clear SH completely depends my friends was really brown and bloody but I never had one at all with adam.

snowfalls · 05/12/2005 11:04

Yep sounds like it, check your bags are packed and rest as much as you can for as long as baby will let you, could be a few hours, could be a few days.

mine was the same day.

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 11:06

Not as thick as pork pie jelly - just a really gunky discharge - jelly like!

yeah its a show in my expert (not) opinion.

Mine looked like pork pie jelly (although agree not as thick) with a little blob of blood.

harpsiheraldangelssing · 05/12/2005 11:12

mine was a bit like hair gel, the old fashioned kind
only a little streak of blood later on

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 16:14

me again.......

so when you do have a show does it happen all in one go or is it possible to loose it a bit at a time.

I'm still getting alot of gunk everytime I go to the loo - it's still 100% clear and I'm just wondering if I have alot of discharge today or if I'm loosing the plug bit by bit.

I've had quite alot of discharge with this pregnancy but it normally goes on my knickers - this stuff is thicker and comes away when I wipe after going to the loo.

I haven't really had any pains all day which is why I'm wondering if this is a show

Bits came away over the next 4 wks and had a blood tinged one at 39wks. Dd born at 39+2.

FlameRobin · 05/12/2005 16:24

I never had a "show" with any of my 3 children. With first, just started bleeding, bright red, no pains, she was born 4 hours later. Son had no show, born 2 hours after pains started. 2nd daughter born, no show, no blood, no jelly, just pains. Born 3 hours later after they broke my waters. Born 18 minutes after waters being broken in hospital.

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:56

oh god sh only for you could I read this thread to the end!
Hope it's what you want!xx

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:57

so glad I did not grab that pork pie

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 17:02

hee hee - it's a bit grim isn't it. I treid discussing it with dh but the words discharge, gunk, blood etc etc etc all made him screw his face up.

The only useful reply I got was that there was no way he would be having sex tonight.

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 17:04

mm, you could try enticing him with 'aspic'?
I never had one before, so await with interest!

Mercy · 05/12/2005 17:04

dd - thin mucus streaked with blood over about 2 hours and when in the throes of full on contractions.

ds - no show whatsoever

Goof luvk

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 17:05
