Hi! I'm new here. I'm pregnant with my first baby and I've been thinking about the birth. A LOT.
I worried about the most silly thing. I am hairy down there Blush (sorry) and particularly in my ummm, bum. I will be waxing/shaving my pubic hair around the due date but I don't know what to do about the hair in my bum! It will look so weird to be clean around the vagina but have hair in my bum:(
I'm going to have a CS but they will still need to check down there and administer pain relief via suppositories. In case I go into labor early, they might need to check for dilation. Then there is the post natal check up.
I know the hair should be the least of my worries but somehow it embarrasses me so much! I can't stop thinking about it.
I'm sorry if I have disgusted anyone. If anybody else is a gorilla like me, please tell me what you did about this.
And btw, I'm not joking. This is a genuine post.It may sound strange but it is something that is making me so stressed out!

This thread is funnyGrin. Glad that my pelvic floor is now good enough to read it without wetting myself.

Seriously OP, I was a bit worried about the state of my pubic area before birth, however this all went out of the window when I was doing actual bits of poo in the birthing pool. DH and the midwife were probably too pre-occupied with that too notice a few stray arse-hairs.

I tried to tidy up before I went into labour with my last baby( no mean feat I was MASSIVE and couldnt see anything below the bump )and was very proud of myself until after the birth I caught sight of my garden and it was totally lopsided and patchy Blush unless you can get some help I say leave well enough alone Grin

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 05/08/2011 00:02

Portofino
I did that too! Blush I told the stupid midwife four times that I needed to pee, and she told me smugly "no you dont, its just the pressure". I was too far gone to move by then, and was in gas and air, so In the end I just thought 'fuck it' and let go! She wasnt so smug after that! Confused

I've pushed two babies out and not a pile in sight. Don't worry, Jasmine!

But I'm sorry to hear your pregnancy has been tough, that's not fair. I prescribe a daily fix of Ben & Jerry's with accompanying shoulder & foot massages!

Hang on in there, and remember that whatever bodily stuff you present on the Big Day, the medics will all have seen much worse. And don't bother vajazzling for the occasion - with a c-section they won't even notice your fanjo bling. Grin

SpeedyGonzalez Aww. Thanks. Its nice to be able to have a moan and not be called a whiner (DH: I mean you!!!AngryAngry).
Funny you should mention Ben and Jerry's, I'm sitting with a tub(yes, tub) right now! Grin I think the baby likes it :)
I'm feeling better about my hairy situation now actually. So, I'm going to go au naturale ;)

JasmineDeMilo · 05/08/2011 01:48
