I am 39 weeks today with DC4 and so fed up. I have a stinking cold, water infection and taking antibiotics that make me feel sick, SPD, sciatica and a slipped disc!! I have been having really strong BHs but am convinced that, like my 3 DSs, I will be late!! My house is a mess and as for nesting......! My DSs are back to school today and I am sure they are relieved as I seem to shout and moan all the time but then again they are boys and they are lazy!!! DH has given up asking how I am as if he asks I just go on and on!!!

Sorry to moan but just wanted to see if anyone else is feeling as fed up as me.

I'm not feeling bad, but I really hope you feel better and the baby comes soon. Smile

Thank you anonymosity. So do I. Smile

Hi Madhouse, i'm 37 wks with DC3 and totally fed up! Not nesting at all - too bloody tired :o

With other 2 babies I had show and 2 hours later baby arrived. Had show with this one on Monday got all excited then nothing else!

Other 2 cephalic from 28 weeks, this one has (in last 36hrs) been, transverse, oblique, breech and cephalic! Thank god I have an induction booked for nest Wednesday -depending on baby's position.

My DP is fantastic but I think he's going to be even more happy than me when baby gets here - he must be so fed up with my moaning :o

Madhouse41 · 03/11/2010 19:19

Good luck emmab5. How frustrating for you. Hopefully you'll go into labour before next Wednesday and it'll be the right way round! My DC has been engaged 2/5ths since 36 weeks! I'm seeing MW tomorrow and really want her to try a sweep but not sure if they will before my due date.

I've just drank a carton of pinapple juice and am drinking lots of Rasberry Leaf tea although I'm sure it's all just an old wives tale!! Let me know how you get on.

emmab5 · 04/11/2010 15:36

I'm planning to try pineapple and rasberry leaf tea - tried curry and sex yesterday and it didn't work! :o

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too. Did your MW give you a sweep?

Bobonie · 04/11/2010 18:18

Hi Madhouse41, I'm 39 weeks today with my second one, my first one is 7 yrs old. I'm so fed up! I feel so tired. I have been feeling very vulnerable and tearful these days. When I try to explain to DH who I feel his answer is that i'm overrecting. Now I don't bother talking or moaning to him.I just keep quite and this silence is killing him.

I wish you all the best and it all be over soon. Take care of yourself

MajorPettigrew · 04/11/2010 18:28

I'm 38 wks today and feel all your pain!

The house is a tip, my DS has no clean clothes for school tomorrow, DD fed up of watching TV during the day as I can't get anything done with her.
DP away until next week - dreading the weekend.

That's about it really - oh and I'm crapping myself about going through labour again.

Gaaaa!

Madhouse41 · 04/11/2010 18:47

Hi Bobonie and MajorPettigrew. All good fun isn't it towards the end!!! NOT!

I saw the MW today and she said that they will not do a sweep until I am 7 days over my due date!!! Great! I think maybe I need to get out the Marigolds and get my DH to try!!! Grin

DCs head is now 1/5 and on a nerve which makes my left leg collapse!! All good fun!!

Rasberry Leaf tea and pinapple not helping and as for sex....!!!! The antibiotics I was on have given me thrush so that's not going to be happening!! I think I'll try a hot curry again tomorrow night.

Good luck all. Smile

I don't see the midwife again until 2 days before my due date, so no idea how far down the babies head is yet.

I was induced with DS (14 days late) and 1 day late with DD, so really have no idea when it will all start.
Half of me wants to get it all over with soon, but I'm panicking about how I'll cope with newborn and very clingy DD (2.9 years)

Rationally, I know it will all be fine, but I'm more scared about coping now than I ever was with the previous 2.

Madhouse41 · 05/11/2010 07:47

MajorPettigrew you'll be fine. I found going from 2 to 3 worrying but found it easier than going from 1 to 2. Really. Number 3 will just fit in. They have to when you have a busy life. My DS2 was 3.5years when DS3 was born and DS1 was 5.5years and has special needs. DS3 just slotted in and you cope. My youngest is now 7.5years and I spend all week running around taking them to afterschool clubs and our weekends are all about football!! This DC is going to be dragged from pillar to post but we'll cope. And I have 3 large, active dogs!!!

Keep me posted and good luck. Smile

MajorPettigrew I have been having same concerns re dc3 so good to hear Madhouses experience.

I think my biggest worry is how to divide my time equally between all 3 DC, DP and still have some time for me without going completely insane :o

Restrainedrabbit · 05/11/2010 10:22

Igave birth to DC3 3 weeks ago (have dd1 - 4.8yrs and DS - 2yrs) and have found it a million times easier going 2-3 than 1-2 Smile Older two have been fine.

emmab5 · 05/11/2010 10:30

That's good to know Restrainedrabbit and congratulations on your new arrival Smile

My other 2 DC are aged 10 & 4 and are very excited about new baby. DP is fab so I think i'm worrying unnecessarily - just want baby to be here now!

I've found this pregnancy much harder than the other 2 - must be my age :o

On a positive note I have been told by Drs that I will be induced next Wednesday if nothing has happened before so at least there's light at end of the tunnel!

Madhouse41 · 05/11/2010 10:58

Congratulations Restrainedrabbit. It's good to know that you are finding it easier going 2-3 too. I just hope I'm going to find 3-4 ok too!!! My 3DSs are that much older now so I am hoping they will help quite a lot.

Emma5, I have found this pregnancy soooooo much tougher than my others. I seemed to sail through them but this one, although it has gone quickly, has been a bugger!!! I'm 41 so I too am putting it down to my age.

Good luck with induction. I was induced with DS3 and although nothing happened all day, once it kicked in it was all over in 2.5 hours. Let us know. Smile

I had a show this morning.
I know that doesn't mean much in itself, but been feeling weird for a few days now, so I don't think it will be too long.

I've got backache and some cramping pain, but as it only started after I noticed the show, I think it might be more in my head than anything actually happening IYSWIM.

Unfortunately DP is not going to be home until Monday at the earliest, so I hope nothing happens before then.

Arrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Madhouse41 · 05/11/2010 14:30

Oh no! Can DP not come home early if he needs to?? Having said that, my DH is near useless during childbirth anyway and is never in the room!! He finds it all too much and he drives me mad so it's easier all round!!!

Good luck. Have you got some other people around to help out if you do need to go into hospital?

OP posts:
emmab5 · 06/11/2010 13:06

Major i'll keep my fingers crossed that nothing happens over the weekend Smile

Madhouse how are you today?

MajorPettigrew · 06/11/2010 15:14

Nothing else happened today.

DP could get home tomorrow if need be - but would prob take so long, he would miss all the action!!! (He's on an oil rig, but they will charter a helicopter for him if I go into labour, but would still take a good few hourse to arrange and for him to get back)

I don't have back ache today - I think the baby must just be pushing further down in me - ready for the off as it were!

Luckily PIL came back early from holiday as the weather was rubbish, so I have them to look after the children without having to rely on friends, who although would be willing to help, I would feel bad for having to ask. Most people already have their hands full with their own DC as it is!

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the good wishes, how are you all keeping?

Madhouse41 · 06/11/2010 19:39

I feel ok today!!! I've been out all day taking kids to parties etc and shopping! I'm beginning to think that this is never going to happen. All the signs last week and the MW telling me I was 1/5 engaged and imminent and nothing. We're going to have a curry tonight again and I have ordered a really hot one!! Confused

My youngest DS has just screamed for no reason from the playroom and given me and my DH the biggest shock!!! Good grief, I've never moved so fast and now I'm shaking!!! He couldn't understand what all the fuss was about!! If that doesn't put me into labour.....!!

Good luck all.

emmab5 · 07/11/2010 10:14

Hi Ladies glad your ok. Major must be a relief that your PIL are back to look afer DC - have you got back up birthing partner?

Madhouse i'm trying to keep myself very busy too. Kids parties, swimming lessons, shopping etc etc etc!

We took DC for a long walk yesterday to try and kick start things but nothings happened i'm just even more exausted than before! :o

Good luck and keep us posted Smile

Lorelai · 07/11/2010 13:45

Can I join in? Only 37+1 but had a show on tues and backache and period type pains for last couple of days so have managed to convince myself it is imminent. If it wasn't for the show I would be quite content to wait, but now I am reading meaning into every little thing. During church (v boring sermon so too much time on my hands!) I even managed to convince myself that my backache was getting worse every 5 mins Hmm

emmab5 · 07/11/2010 18:10

Hi Lorelai, I'm doing the same - and driving myself crazy in the process :o

I think i've got too much time on my hands now i'm on maternity leave!

Madhouse41 · 07/11/2010 19:25

Welcome Lorelai and hi emmab5. I haven't had a show and am feeling very left out!!! I am having a lot of cramping and period like pain and the baby is so low now that my legs keep giving way!! Been out for lunch with girlfriends today and have laughed so much that my stomach is feeling very odd tonight!!! I am 40 weeks on Tuesday which is my eldest DSs birthday so think maybe I want it to wait now til after then.

Not heard from MajorPettigrew today. Hope all going well.

Keep us posted. Smile

OP posts:
Lorelai · 07/11/2010 19:31

Period pain and backache getting a lot worse here, but also still having heartburn - is that a bad sign?

Emmab - I'm not on mat leave yet (1 more week) and so will be really disappointed if I have to go in tomorrow having got myself all worked up!

MajorPettigrew · 07/11/2010 19:39

I'm still here!

Nothing further to report really - no more shows and odd cramping every so often, but nothing too much.

Just REALLY fed up with DP's work. Now the earliest he will get home is Friday. I can't believe that just because someone in the office mucked up the rota, he his stuck on the rig.
I can't moan to DP too much (or tell him how upset I am) as he feels bad enough and is ready to go mental with office bods when he gets back.
Even though the oil company is willing to charter a chopper for him if I do go into labour, by the time he got back, it would all be over anyway.
Just a bit worried about going through it all on my own. There is no one else I would feel happy being there with me.

I suppose there is no point getting too wound up about it though, as neither of us can do anything about it. I just hope I don't go early.
