Amazing, have put myself into labour by sheer effort of will!

How did you do it?

bubbahubba · 20/10/2010 17:22

why would you want your waqters to go first hun? If the baby isnt positioned correctly, that isn't ideal
have you stqrted contractions?

preghead · 20/10/2010 17:24

Due date today, spent all day at the hospital today like yesterday, doctors and sonographers and midwives arguing, induce, don't induce, one minute I am staying in next I am going home, finally the doctor says induce, then the midwife tells them the unit is full so can't. Come back tommorow for scan, trace decision on induction same all over again. I don't want to be induced so I thought ffs let's just get on with it so while they were still arguing amongst themesleves I stood up and pushed really hard and tried to make them go and they did!

Right. This is er unusual.

preghead · 20/10/2010 17:27

Yes fairly mild contractions started straight away, not that this has helped really as they are still full and ive been turfed out to " come back later" so am standing downstairs in the cafe, water going everywhere, waiting for Dp to come and get me as he doesn't think I should drive?

Hmm
FoghornLeghorn · 20/10/2010 17:29

Good luck - my waters broke first with all of mine, hours before anything else happened in all instances

DooinMeCleanin · 20/10/2010 17:30

I suspect that you didn't actually make them go it was just co-incidence. Are you overdue?

preghead · 20/10/2010 17:32

Yes last time ( is my third) waters broke about 7pm contractions started about midnight born at about 3. Do you think fact they have started straight away this time means it could be quicker this time?

Positioning reasonable I think from scan I had at 2 pm wa head down fairly engaged looking sideways. Only 2cm dilated though.

Wow, at least I won't need to be induced I guess as long as happens tonight.

erm, positive thinking is really not a cause of labour starting, but good for you !

i am not sure should be sent home with full rupture of membranes if you've not been monitored or anything though?

preghead · 20/10/2010 17:34

Yes I know but still impressed Smile I really was pushing and visualising them going though. Not overdue due date today.

Also had sweep today prob more to do with it but don't spoil my fun!

They did a CTG before I went but I am also wondering with third whether I should go home the contractions are getting quite strong ! It's because they're bloody full no doubt Angry

I really wouldn't go home at this stage. I'm surprised they'll let you. Good luck with it all - won't be long :).
