My first baby was 7.9lbs and second 8.6lbs, I was quite neat with both but this times round my bump is HUGE & measuring a week ahead!

Yes - quite bizarre really. I looked ridiculous towards end of pregnancy but no mw ever showed cause for concern - or estimated large baby. No gestational diabetes either. She took us all by surprise - 12cm longer than average and head circ 5cm longer than average. However, no probs during delivery and - importantly - no tears. It was a lovely relaxed home birth, very similar to the others in fact. She lost over a pound in the days following her birth and is now pretty much bang-on average.

DD1 42 wks 8lb 2oz
DD2 41 wks 8lb 12oz
DS 40+2 8lb 6oz

Horrendous tearing and stitches with DD1 but nothing at all with the other two.

Thought DS was going to be the biggest as my bump was lot bigger and he was measuring 'off the scale' on all the scans.

Insanitybecomesme · 10/10/2010 23:27

Yes
DS1 37wks 7lb 80z
DS2 40wks 8lb 10oz
DD1 40wks 9lb 11oz
DS3 38wks 9lb 7oz
DD2 36+6 aprox 6lb(she was incorrectly weighed at birth so use weight at day 2)
DS4 36+6 7lb 2oz

DS3 would have been my biggest if allowed to go to term, but he was deliverd by c section as DD1 was a traumatic birth with shoulder dystocia.

DD2 and DS4 were also c section due to being uncooperative in their positioning(twins), DD2 had a recorded birth weight of 5lbs 1oz, which just looked wrong so at 48hrs old she was weighed at 6lb, the chances of her gaining nearly 1lb is slim, the midwifes reckon she was more like 6lb 5oz allowing for some loss but we will never know.

nope dd2 was heaviest at 7lb all full term or full term +

greenbeanie · 11/10/2010 10:39

Really interesting to read this as currently 37 weeks with dc3
ds1 - 9lb15 (1 week early)
ds2 - 10lb7 (term)
dd1 - 7lb10 on growth scan at 35 weeks!!!

Poledra · 11/10/2010 10:45

Nope, DD2 was the biggest at 8lb 13, but there wasn't much to choose between them all (DD1 8lb 4, DD3 8lb 11) - I was quite consistent.

DD3 might have been bigger as I was induced at 40+1 because she had medical issues that meant she was better out than in - she was clearly not ready to go as ARM did nothing and we had to move to synto to get her shifting.

They all had bleedin' enormous heads mind - I should have closely examined DH's massive bonce before agreeing to have children with him........... Hmm

truffleshuffle · 11/10/2010 10:47

Yes my 3rd was the heaviest.

DC1 7lb 15oz
DC2 8lb 4oz
DC3 9lb 3oz

tittybangbang · 11/10/2010 11:16

No, smallest.

Dc1 9lbs 6oz (40+10)
Dc2 10lb 12oz (40+5)
Dc3 9lb 3oz (39+6)

Dc 3 is by far the largest of my three children now - much taller for his age than the other two. I put his 'low' birthweight down to the very low carb diet I followed during that pregnancy in my efforts not to have another huge baby.
