I've been in and out with possible preeclampsia for nearly 3 weeks now. Bloods are looking ok but bp and proteinuria getting worse. Cons was all set to schedule section for morning but cervix is 1cm and soft so going for ARM instead. What do I need to know? DP gone home and head empty, sure I should be asking questions!

Wee bump. Been having contractions! Think this might be it but haven't told mw cos they'll wire me up to the bloody ctg and that'll be it. Excited!

Good luck, how exciting Smile

ThatDamnDog · 19/09/2010 22:43

Still going, just like period pains but round the top of my legs too. Blood pressure down too so all good. Weird, not having DP here, always thought he'd be with me. I guess if things get going they ring him - he's an hour away though ...!

Sorry for very needy thread - this is all a bit surreal.

Keep going. This is great. I'm sure you could ask for some paracetemol if needed.
Try stay off the bloody ctg machine unless really needed.
How often are they checking in on you?
have you got a tens machine?

all the best

I totally empathise with the in and out due to suspected pre-eclampsia - that happened to me with DS - was in and out from about 35 weeks to 38 weeks.

I was told on a Thursday they were going to induce me on the Saturday but waters broke (spectacularly) on the Friday morning and he was born early on the Saturday morning.

Took a little while for my contractions to start properly but once they did they was no doubt.

How pregnant are you? Maybe your baby will be born on my DD's birthday (tomorrow :))

Blimey woman, if ever there was a time when it was okay to be needy, I'd say it was just about now. Will be thinking of you Grin. Great to hear that your bp has come down.

HOW EXCITING!!!

ThatDamnDog · 19/09/2010 23:00

Told mw when she checked my bp at ten, she said buzz if i need anything and left me to it so all good! Don't need painkillers, just niggly. Tens is at home with DP, but coping fine for now. Def not bh though, 4 hours and fairly reg. Woohoo! Should really try to sleep but bit excited!

ThatDamnDog · 20/09/2010 12:39

still not really getting going as well as i'd hoped so synto starts after lunch. Not overjoyed by this but it's that or a section ...

Hope it all goes okay, whatever happens I'm envious that you get a little baby. Mmmm, brushing a warm little head with your chin - bliss.

And ask for an epidural if you need one.

Little girl born at 8.24, speedy appearance in the end, just snuggled up feeding, bliss. Hurt like buggery but worth every second. Bit of a tear due to rapid entry to world but everything fab. She's divine. Thanks :)
