CCC members...do any of you visit the little certified sites?

We've been to a couple now both were CCC members only and very quiet. We've visited one 3 times this year and the latest one, which we stayed at Thursday night, we've booked into again in July. That one is 1/2 a mile from the sea on a farm with cottages. Slight road noise and the train track is near but isn't a problem and not through the night. Plus it's £5 pupn. Dss love the quiet ones. Don't get me wrong they aren't really quiet boys but they love the countrside and nature.

I was in two minds about joining CCC but am so glad I did. There are other sites I have in mind too for the future. We still like looking on UK campsite for places, especially ones behind a country pub for when it's just dp and me Although we have taken ds2 to one too when ds1 was somewhere else.

it wasn't what we expected curiousmama! We've stayed on a few club sites and always had a great time on them.

Thanks Sancti - sounds good . We still haven't done the Gower - want to do a site there, and Cardigan Bay, and Ravenglass in the Lakes and...and....and....

Can't find your email address! Give me a clue how it starts - it must be in my addresses somewhere. Thought it began with your old name, but can't find it...

Going to the one near the beach today. Supposed to be sunny but it's cold and drizzly Still am sure we'll have fun

Dss are off with their dad tomorrow so just be dp and me. At least they'll have one night with us. We did think of getting shortie wetsuits and bodyboards but couldn't find wetsuits locally...bit glad we didn't now though seen as it's cold.

Anyone else going away?

Just got back, how cold was it last night!

To answer your earlier question I think the sites arelimited to five units because they don't need much, if any planning regulations.

Our favourite CS is 6 miles up a one way track, it would cause traffic chaos if they opened up a huge campsite.

Curiousmama · 21/06/2010 10:18

Ahh that makes sense. The one we've just come back from had more than 5 units on it Saturday night.

Ended up just dp and me as dss had to be off early with their dad. So we just took the Vango halo 300 which was a good job as Sat night was very very windy...we'd have struggled getting the big tent up! Plus dss may have had trouble sleeping with the wind...as did I. Last night was lovely and calm...except that we were near the train track and last night must've been time to check the tracks. We were woken with this horrendous noise...a crunching squealing sound it was awful. We looked out and could see this slow moving huge thing on the track with someone following it. And of course being in a tent we could hear it all. Still we managed to get back off and woke to more glorious sunshine Must take earplugs next time.
