Help me find a camping table!!

We need a table. Me, dh and ds need to be able to sit round it to eat and it will double up as a playing table for lego and drawing too.
I've looked at slatted ones but not so good for drawing on and to be honest they seem really flimsy and I cannot have my gin and tonic in danger.

So - doesn't have to be huge but does need to be sturdy.

Does anyone have any recommendations!!

that, I'd like to see, slubber!

asks slubber to think laterally.

putting tin hat on and sitting under the gazebo in the garden upon comfortable reclining camping chair just in case slubbs does in fact toss her gold plated moon orbs in my direction.

we have this baby tis v. good. i wouldn't tap dance on it but considering the price and the foldiedownness it is excellent.

you are bonkers to even consider taking lego camping btw

The point is that a low table (somewhere nearer to coffee table height) is much more amenable for camping - adults can use it with folding armchairs and kids can sit on plastic boxes or small kiddy chairs and have it the right height for them.

We do have stools like this but it's more hassle teetering on them with a higher table and they're easily kicked over. Although one is good to perch on while cooking.

See every time I see a lovely camping thread I want to leap in like an enthusiastic dog ! At the moment I have all my kit and a couple of trips planned but haven't actually been yet - I just love all this talk about STUFF !

I have throws... Well I get chilly!!!!!!

Rofl at flying buttocks

Notwaving - me too! It's all very exciting. And I think we're going for the lakeland table cos you can make it lower

I hope you like the Lakeland table as much as we do kitbit. I felt very smug when the only shady bit of our pitch was under a tree on a very steep slope - we were quite the envy of the neighbours!

kitbit · 25/05/2010 20:50

Thanks fireandlife for the recommendation! And if it's wonky I'll just prop up the space under the leg with lego. So I can justify packing it!!

oh, and for the record the all-in-ones are a great idea however following the much glossed over incident involving too much beer, teenage hormones, an all in one table set and a trip to A&E I think I'll steer clear.

It's here! In all it's strong legged fabulousness. I need to confess that I went hunting on the web and found that Lafafuma do a slightly bigger one so we went for that, and it's here!!! It's wonderful, thanks so much for the recommendation. In fact I opened it, put 2 glasses on it and sent dh out for ice
(tis Friday and I am home early, worth a gin and tonic in my book!)

Am very very happy
