slubber it was AMAZING and, though horribly smug, very lovely. I definitely felt envious and slightly inferior with my Mrs Twit hair and feral children.

I just don't know how you could transport that amount of stuff though - I have to travel with my feet up on the dashboard as it is, without finding space in the car for bunting and moroccan lanterns. And it must have taken them hours to set up camp!

tootootired · 22/04/2010 23:13

Solid B's, expect for the first question. Have you seen us camp?

Until last year or so we were A's and proud of it

And I really aspire to be a bit more C but my utilitarian tendencies keep breaking through.

Slubberdegullion · 23/04/2010 09:17

tootired. I think it's pretty tough remaining a minimalist with dc. fwiw I think it is a natural and healthy progression from minimalist to utilitarian

Tikkabilla, they must have trailers, it's that or a mary poppins bag. Thing is a trailer doesn't really fit with the homespun vibe so they must all be being towed away and hidden out of sight, away from the bell tents.

DH is an A when he goes camping on his own - his tent is so small he has to get out of it to get dressed, allegedly

SethStarkaddersMum · 23/04/2010 12:58

I have never glamped but I have done historical re-enactment camping.
You have canvas tents with wooden poles, oak stools and a big cauldron to cook in.
It is all very heavy.
Someone I know camps as a Viking. She has some lovely furs for keeping warm in the night. It is all lovely and cosy but they do have to take a train of mules Landrover and trailer.

Crunchie · 23/04/2010 22:55

al most all c's with the odd d.

We have the bell tent and parafin lanterns, combined with campfire cookery and rose wine!!

overmydeadbody · 25/04/2010 14:34

oooh I only just saw this!!!! love it slubber

I don't suppose anyone would be surprised to hear that I answered A for every question

overmydeadbody · 25/04/2010 14:36

would now be the wrong time to admit that I have occasional secret yearnings to be a bit C, if only I could encorporate it more with minimalist ideals

I might make some mini lightweight bunting

PinkoLiberal · 25/04/2010 15:02

7d is me ther's no need for the rest PMSL:- gallo zinfandel by choice, 2008 model sun valley

am othewrwise a B/ D but I don't envy A's, been there done that and appreciate the armchairs

Curiousmama · 25/04/2010 16:15

Did you make that up yourself slubber? Genius

wubblybubbly · 25/04/2010 20:31

Great quiz slubber - helped me to make a momentous decision! Turns out I'm mostly E's, so the camping stuff is going on ebay next weekend.

Slubberdegullion · 25/04/2010 20:58

LOL @ wubbly. Oh dear. Well I guess its better to realise it now rather .than when you're on a campsite.

Curious, yes. It was a long trip back through n wales

OMDB YAY! You are the gold standard mn minimalist camper. Let's not spoil it all with the bunting shall we.

I want to hear more about Seth's camping re-enactments.

trice · 26/04/2010 09:59

I am in the B/D camp with yearnings towards glamping but I just can't fit anything else in the car.

We are going camping shortly (motorhome)and now I dont know if I am coming or going. Please help me out. Do I wear my crocks at the site with all the facilities (WC people according to the other thread)or at the site with minimal facilities (MC). Will we be ignored at the first site or second. We do have camping crockery but have decided to do as little washing up as possible so use paper plates and cups. Again will we be ignored. Going by the other thread our windbreaks are cheap plastic raffia stuff, yes or no. Surely the fact we have had them since the year dot makes us MC or again will we be ignored. We are just back from a camping trip and I dont think anyone looked at their neighbours equipment, we just had a good time.
