I suspect it is yet another sign that I am turning into my mother. She could never go. Packs of prunes were purchased, transported and consumed, with little effect.

I took sainsbury's nice prunes with me...

Somehow my bowels just know. You'd think all the fresh air and tea and striding purposefully about would help.

Do tell me, it's not just me.

Sound decision. Doesn't even merit a shit, as tis a hole.

I had never realised that the name was invented purely to put the place on the tourist map (come, flock to this not very interesting place with a very long name, gullible English tourists!) I learned this watching a very educational film while waiting to go up to the top of South Stack lighthouse.

moondog · 16/08/2008 21:38

Yes!
And visitor centre full of Scottish tat.

pmsl this thread has become: Moondog advises on nice places to shit in North Wales.

Soren, we have a canvas cabanon which is lovely but you have to completely repitch it, put everysingle goddamn peg and guy in or the damn thing shrinks.

I have a kind of love/hate relationship with it. This morning I was not loving it so much.

Good deities Slubber, really?

What a PITA! Couldn't be arsed with that!

SorenLorensen · 16/08/2008 21:42

Scottish? Those English tourists really are gullible

The Cabanons are lovely but a bit high maintenance for me - at least my Monty will be dry in the morning (though folding it correctly to get it in the bag while indoors is not easy...)

Oh there was the most gorgeous camper van on the site where we stayed - lovely VW camper with flowers painted on with a matching dark green, with stripey sections, awning - it was so, so lovely - I have never seen one quite like it before.

Lucycat · 16/08/2008 21:43

we met some lovely people from Llanfair pg on the pitch next to us in France, lots of loud Welsh being spoken!

Peachy · 16/08/2008 21:44

Our sun valley is a nightmare to pack down but fab on all other counts so will do

not tempted to tent shop which is a bit for me!

Slubberdegullion · 16/08/2008 21:48

Oh but Peachy, when you are inside it and it is raining outside and all you hear is the gentle fzsffzsfzszfszfszfzsfzsfzszfzsfz on the canvas, and when it is blowing a gale the only noise it makes it a genteel little whum-whum-whum

and the smell

Then I feel smug, and I love it. A lot.
