KEYCAMP OR EUROCAMP - VIEWS PLS - ASAP!!!

Right, i am looking at keycamp and eurocamp and wondered if there is anything you preferrred about each.

Always been with Canvas Holidays but now looking for a change.

What is the accomodation like? Looking for luxury (!) We camp all over england under canvas but like the big mobiles etc when abroad.

any advice or tips would be brill,

yes i agree! just been to so many canvas sites i thought it might be a nice change to try somewhere new.

cannot compare, as we started with Eurocamp 4 years ago and have gone with them ever since. When I first rang to book the person on the phone was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, as our (brochure picked0 was not available, asked about the childrens ages etc, and recommended one - it was excellent, customer service outstanding, so we have just alsways re-booked with them. The only downside is that they will only book two way travel - becuae f the boat timings I prefer to go out via St Malo and then come back a different route, so this year we have booked the camp and the journey separately. we have always found the caravan spotless, and the reps available if you need them - which is actaully all we need them to provide...

that's curious. Cos if they're the same company why are they so similar. Surely they'd have a different brand, or target different audiences or something.

Just wondering. Is there any difference?

They are run by the same company (Greenbank holidays) I have a friend who works in their Head office in cheshire.

IIRC one bought the other out, but they've not really done anything to merge the two companies or push them into two separate areas.

Cod is right - depends on the campsite.

Just chose your fave site then see who goes there. Chose the mobile that best meets your needs cos most of these camping companies are pretty muchof a muchness. Although I'd think about sticking with canvas to get a BIG van with a dishwasher! We always go with French/Camoing?Canvas Life cos of the tesco vouchers. Vans are adequate - spacius enough and we've always enjoyed staying in 1 but I wouldn't come back raving about how fantastic the van was!

We've just had a Canvas holiday. It was great. We stayed at the Camping Atlantique site in Brittany. We were very lucky with the weather. I sunbathed and got a tan! School mums were impressed!
Good pools. Great for kids of all ages. Mine were 5 and nearly 3. But all the kids big and small enjoyed it.

Downside was dd being sick on the ferry but luckily it was only 3 hours. portsmouth to Cherbourg.

i had a look on the canvas site first for portugal and italy and they didnts seem to have anything for the school hols, so had a quick look at the keycamp one. they seemed to have quite alot left, with some fairly hefty discounts.

I know one of them was in praia de luz, which I dont think I would want to do, but there were some others around, and thought i might give them a try.

We always used to drive down the the Cote d'azur in one hit through the night and also did it to Italy and my DH was exhausted!!

So last year we flew then hired a car and it was alot easier, (although I HATE flying). didnt work out that expensive as we went in May.

aunty - thanks for that, I will look into it.

pointy - i did a matthews one in the vendee and it is much cheaper, they are just limited with the sites they are on, plus didnt have the kids club at the one we were on and mine were well into the Hoopi club in those days. (wouldnt go near it now....sooooooooooooooooo for babies!)

how old are your DCS?

sites usually have their own clubs and are more older kids orientated than littlies.
and they are free

yes, cod, sites have less and less of their own accomodation. we booked in october and could only get mid-week bookings so are going wed-to-wed
