I’m driving myself mad searching and trawling for a perfect campsite and I don’t think it exists!

We’ve been to the same campsite in Biscarrosse for the last couple of years which was great but we'd like to go elsewhere, plus there were some downsides to the campsite.

We stay in mobile homes or chalets so aren’t proper campers.. we have a 4 year old daughter.

I’m looking for a campsite which:

  • has a couple of nice pools
  • is quiet on an evening with no / minimal entertainment
  • spacious pitches so the accommodation isn’t all squeezed together
  • has bike hire and possibly nice cycle paths etc.

Am I searching for the impossible?!! Thank you!

@whosafraidofabigduckfart (phew!) we’ve booked to go to La Rive in the summer. After we booked we were showing some friends of ours where we were going and they loved it there.
Been to Les Valades. The setting of the campsite is lovely.

Last summer we stayed in the Vendée, flowers camping, la bretonniere. Big pitches, a nice pool that was never overcrowded, not too much entertainment, not too many British. Short drive to a fab beach, We really liked it. Friends stay at Castell camping la garangoire, they love it and I have to agree that the facilities there are fab but for us it was too much. (And more expensive).

Has anyone been to Cosycamp? Looks amazingSmile I'm a single parent with a 12year old DD. I love the idea of car free ( I'm not enthusiastic about driving abroad). My only concern is that it looks like it might be geared towards younger children. Mine is a young 12 but definitely also a hormonal tween Hmm

No pool but right on the beach and not pricey considering its fab location as it's a municipal site. Bike hire, bakery, snack bar and restaurant within 1 min. Beautiful village centre 8 mins walk
