I love mevagissey - really beautiful

LadyTophamHatt · 13/05/2007 19:51

we'll be losing our camping virginity in Devon, last week of july, first week Aug.

We've been to white cliff bay a few times sparkler, we camped there per kids, and stayed there a few times since having them too.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 13/05/2007 19:54

Dusty we're there 7th - 10th (4 nights) should you be nearby do come and join us for a drink

dustystar · 13/05/2007 19:55

Might just do that peachy - we don't live that far Obviously will come armed with a bottle of wine!

dustystar · 13/05/2007 19:56

Jist looked up your site Sparkler and its a way from ours as we are going near st austell

Mercy · 13/05/2007 19:56

ooh, will have a proper look at this later.

We generally go to Suffolk or Norfolk

Debbiethemum I think the other Tom's Field must be in Cornwall

PeachyChocolateEClair · 13/05/2007 19:57

All wine welcome LOL!

dustystar · 13/05/2007 20:00

I think the confusion with Tom's field comes from the fact that there is one near Godshill near fordingbridge in Hampshire and there is also a Godshill on the IOW which is also in hampshire. The other tom's field is near swanage in dorset. There might be others but i don't know of them

Sparkler1 · 13/05/2007 20:02

ah that's a shame dusty - we could have met up in the pub and left dh's to look after the kids

Dustystar - you should come and join us on the camping trip in July. Me, Surfer and Whoops and maybe one or two others are going with a few kiddies.

Does anybody remember last summer the talk about a Mumsnet camping trip - has anybody heard anything about it this year ?

deuxcheekymonkeys do you know which tom's field you are going to yet?

LadyOfTheFlowers · 13/05/2007 21:13

we are at chiverton park in cornwall for a week commencing june 25th.

Troutpout · 13/05/2007 21:32

Rynys farm in Snowdonia in July

Plas-Uchaf on Angelsey in August

Hoping to get one more in....not sure where yet

and i am off to Cornwall (Kennack sands) at Whit for 2 weeks...(caravan though)

deuxcheekymonkeys · 14/05/2007 20:55

We haven't booked anything for this year - yet (!) due to having a wee baby....we did however take the tent to devon 3 weeks ago and DH took DS1 for an overnighter...he LOVED it and keeps asking about going again...anyone else gone with a baby under a year? Is it as much as a nightmare as I am imagining?

PeachyChocolateEClair · 14/05/2007 22:49

If its warm enough and you're BF I wuld thik its easy as anyting- I suspect if youre FF it could be mroe complex, but theres always disposable bottles (or cold water sterilsiers which we always used) and carton milk.

TBH I seriously doubt a baby would stop us camping (bar the extreme springs tuff obv)

autumnlover · 15/05/2007 20:29

we're going camping with our 12 week old (and 22mth, 5 yr olds) over the bank holiday. I am BF but he does have a bottle in the evenings. mothercare have a small travel cold water and microwave stereliser which i'm taking and some cartons of formula. we are only for 4 nights.

for sleeping - he's moses basket folds flat,

for walking - i think he'll be in sling most of the time but we'll take one buggy.

we've had to get a roof box though!!

i think it'll be great and everyone is looking forward to it.

Pixel · 15/05/2007 23:50

Dustystar, we'll be going to Exmoor during half-term too! West Luccombe for us.

Aefondkiss · 15/05/2007 23:59

rosses point in the summer hols, we haven't booked yet

and somewhere in the wilds of scotland, as dh is very keen to try wild camping, with canoes, not sure about this because I like to have a shower, I imagine I could last two days in the wilderness then need to return to civilisation... plus there are two small children involved in this "adventure"

we will be camping in our own garden in July, when I attempt to host a small 60th birthday party for my mum(we are giving up the house to anyone who just can't sleep under canvas/whatever nylony stuff tents are made of)

and hopefully a couple of impromptu camping trips locally, for long weekends.

dustystar · 16/05/2007 12:02

There are are some forestry commission sites in scotland.

kittypants · 16/05/2007 12:06
