Where can I buy a small kitchen knife, with a safety cover, for chopping vegetables when camping?

Does such a thing exist?

I want a small chopping knife that has a cover on it that cannot be easily removed. Any ideas?

qu'est-ce que c'est, le "Bongo"?

TheKnightsWhoSayNi · 07/05/2007 22:49

Comme les FruitShoots?

Sparkler1 · 07/05/2007 22:50

Like Furball - I was also going to suggest the Pampered Chef my safe cutter knife

i have an Opinel that i bought a loooonnng time ago in France, and love it.

As for safety, i would never rely on something having a safety catch/cover as being safe to leave for children to test this out.

racist. (or should that be raciste?)

AitchTwoOh · 07/05/2007 22:51

TheKnightsWhoSayNi · 07/05/2007 22:51

Pourquoi raciste? That's what I got when I put "Bongo" into Google

AitchTwoOh · 07/05/2007 22:53

TheKnightsWhoSayNi · 07/05/2007 22:58

some friends of mine have a bongo, they love it, beware though, they are imports generally and sometimes not good ones, wrong tyres etc

SillyMillysMummy · 08/05/2007 08:37

this is a bongo

tubismybub · 08/05/2007 08:40

yes you do have to be carefull, we are going to research thoroughly before we buy

SillyMillysMummy · 08/05/2007 08:43

my friends bought from an imports dealer, quite reputable they thought, when they recently got a puncture, took it to be fixed, they were told that the tyres were all odd and were only suitable for cars, not vans, considering they were carrying their newborn in it, they were not impressed

god that awfull. the dealer we met at the weekend was a real tosser to be honest. He went on about how some people import dodgy vans that look great on the outside but are really poor quality. He showed us a van that looked fab but he said it was actually really poor quality and that he would never sell it to someone he just has it for demo purposes. When we got home we saw it for sale on ebay lying arse!
