it's dh. he's never even been to a camp site before. he's proving difficult on the tent thing and wants to try it out first. or a tent for rent, even?

Findhorn.
Not the foundation.
Lovely clean campsite/static van-site and miles of beach
Though tbh not a lot going on in the village.....
(Grew up there a bit)

Never?!

Holy shit!

expatinscotland · 26/04/2007 22:31

There's one in Anstruther that's nice, apparently.

I know an absolutely wonderful one in the Highlands. It depends what you want from your holiday though. This place is very quiet and the nearest shop is 4 miles away. Nearest town 12 miles. Interested?

princesscc · 26/04/2007 22:34

Well hello Kbear!

Wallace · 26/04/2007 22:38

Aitch, we went here last week and had a great time. The beach is amazing, the caravan was clean and fairly spacious.

I can show you photos of the beach if you like?

ChippyMinton · 26/04/2007 22:38

you'll never get him imto a tent after he's experienced the private bathroom facilities and proper bedrooms of a mobile home (not to mention the beer fridge, TV...) Ah, the great outdoors

Sorry don't know any places in Scotland tho'.

Kbear · 26/04/2007 22:41

wotcha pcc

had to recommend it although will be mightily pissed off if people start turning up in droves, I like it quiet!!

Wallace · 26/04/2007 22:42

princesscc - where? The place we went was lovely, but will be very busy during the school holidays, so I would like to know somewhere a bit quieter.

Wallace · 26/04/2007 22:43

ah kbears one

princesscc · 26/04/2007 22:43

Yeh I know. Its OUR garden! Did you make it into work? DH still stuck in Victoria. Or was it stuck in the pub? Mmm - I wonder.

Wallace · 26/04/2007 22:44

btw it looks lovely, but a bit to similar to home to be a holiday

princesscc · 26/04/2007 22:45

Yes indeedy. The Kbears & PCC's wouldn't go anywhere else!

princesscc · 26/04/2007 22:47

I did wonder if maybe someone with a name like Wallace wanted to go on holiday to Scotland!

Kbear · 26/04/2007 22:47

Is it near you Wallace. can we call in for tea and shortbread next time we're up?

Pcc - yes, got to work at 12.30 via DLR and train and bus - trains were running again tonight but delays. The fire was still smoking when the train went past, we were all choking!!

Wallace · 26/04/2007 22:49

Not that close unfortunately, but the scenery looks the same

princesscc · 26/04/2007 22:49

If you keep asking people if we can drop in on the way, its gonna take 8 days not 8 hours!!

Kbear · 26/04/2007 22:50

I'm networking pcc - you never know when you might need a mumsnetter!

AitchTwoOh · 26/04/2007 22:52

oh my gosh aren't you lovely? i can't believe people answered. was it the sacrilege that hooked you? am off to have a look at the links.

AitchTwoOh · 26/04/2007 22:53

Findhorn Sands
If you wait a bit it scrolls through some lovely pics

vitomum · 26/04/2007 23:01

what about a wigwam

princesscc · 26/04/2007 23:07

For you AitchTwoOh - the world. Why would we not answer your call for help. Anyway, it gets mighty cold in Scotland at night and you don't want to be under canvas imo!!

AitchTwoOh · 26/04/2007 23:08

ah, vito, a mutual friend of ous (a loud-ish woman who you find a little scary but i suspect is merely deaf) recently wigwammed in the borders and left after one night. declared it Awful. anyway, dh wants a tin tent to start off. then we will borrow yours.
