What would your perfect campsite have to make it special?

Mine would be in Cornwall, no more than say 15 pitches.
Each pitch surrounded by a clear boundary, preferably made of herbs.
Warm shower block
Washing up sink
Table tennis table, possibly badminton and dart board as well (to keep teenagers partially amused).
Wifi
Free book exchange
Firepit
...Within walking distance of a gorgeous surfing beach.

Not much to ask then

Lots of hot showers in large cubicals with dry floors.
Lots of free activities, playground, obstacle course, swimming pool, mini golf

No WiFi so people have to talk and there's no chance of work emails getting through.

Absolutely nothing. Well, a loo and a hot shower is good, but not necessary.

Be near a waterfall and each pitch circled by trees. Warm showers somewhere close by.

A shop selling local fresh bread, bacon, cheese, milk etc and papers.

A short, flat walk to a sandy beach.

No road noise.

Hot food take away place selling proper dinners :) Things like cottage pie, lasagne, beef stew etc in family sized portions. Wouldn't be too difficult to set up if shop stored the meals frozen and there was some system to order them by 2pm for pick up after 6pm or something .....

Somewhere to buy ice and to freeze blocks

Communal BBQ so each pitch doesn't have to have its own tiny one every night. If there was a fairly good scattering of permenant 'country park' type BBQs, with a stocked box of charcoal/paper/lighters etc by it, someone would get it going and then others could come and use it too. Would probably result in friendly gatherings at dinner time too :)

Small or at least with a small feel / separate areas.
Coastal or vvv close.
Fires and dogs allowed.
Firepits provided and logs available onsite.
Trees or hedges for shelter.
Clean toilets.
Hot, clean showers.
No electric, or at least TVs not allowed (I do not understand why anyone would want to watch telly on a camping holiday. Fuck off home and watch it there).

What would I hate?
I'd hate being given a specific camping pitch, being close to neighbours, a commercial site,

No other people.

And no bears.

Other than that, I'm pretty easy.

Having the means to transport
My camping equipment to a camping spot I choose. Wheelbarrow or car.

Low numbers of people even if it meant paying a £1 or so more per person

Showers that are easy to operate, clean, and have the ability to reach a temperature that isn't freezing or scalding.
Beautiful scenery
Near to a beach
Quiet
Kitchen block with sinks etc
Clean loos.
Big enough so that you don't have to talk to anyone unless you choose to.

Fire pit in each camping pitch so I can put the kids to bed, watch the tent while keeping myself warm.

A remote BBQ or fire pit away from the tent is no good

No swimming pool and no games room and no flashy store and no vast site canteen and no evening entertainment. If you do have these things, I'll assume the campsite is quite rough in terms of clientele.

No music. I hate being made to listen to other people's stereo music day or night. I can just about put up with a quiet guitar strumming a long distance away from my tent

Wifi yes, although not essential

Good we all like different things from campsites! I spend my time scouring the Internet looking for the most basic sites possible - hard to find as they don't tend to advertise!

Madwoman!! No bears

At least I don't have to worry about that in Wales or Cornwall.

I love the dynamics between the different types of campers, last year we were pitched between Mrs Posh paws and her little angels who practised their writing, maths and ocarinas continually..........and the loudest most gregarious family in the world, who were drinking beer with breakfast!!

What made these very different people choose that particular campsite??

serin you weren't at Shell Island, were you? Campers there are a wide-ranging bunch?

No WiFi, no mobile signal, no electric hook ups. A news agent within walking distance.

Sinks in little cubicles with good lighting
Fresh baked crossaints etc available in the mornings
Freezers for freezing ice packs
A play area that can be seen from most pitches
A few low key kids activities/crafts
A fish and chip van once a week
A little shop selling ice creams
Friendly owners
