tell me do they stop 6 year olds using the very tmae looking slide?

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 17:46

dunno, and my mates are away atm, but I will ask them. Pool is quite deep, but I think ds went down it alone, and he was 5.

It is a tough call, since some guards can be very strict in France. We got caught out by the 'speedos' rule for dh the first time we went

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 17:49

this is the haven site I was thinking of, v big, but excellent facilities, kids had no probs with slides and ds was 3 when we went

beckybrastraps · 11/11/2006 17:49

Ah yes - the speedo rule!
Dh has a very lovely pair tucked away at the back of the drawer for French camping trips. He had to buy them in France. He speaks very little French, refused to enter into any conversation in the shop and came out with a pair that were eye-wateringly too small. I had to take them back and exchange them.

We went to the the Clarys Plage .

Right next to a beach, pool was good, loads of slides. DD(3) was able to go down them all.

There's a supermarket right next to the campsite and a few pizzarias/take aways.

I don't remember a games room but dsd (10) made a little gang of friends at the park. The entertainment was OK, dd and dsd liked going to the bar, but the only problem was that it started too late at 9pm IMO.

We went with Matthews . They have a forum where people talk about the sites.

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:01

is siblu chavvy

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 18:03

a touch, in places, if I am honest. But then so is la yole, in places.

I like quieter places.

If you want non chavvy but with lots of things to do, 15 mins from beach tho, excellent place is la garengerois (sp??/) in St Julien des landes

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 18:04

very posh, very nice

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:05

ta will look
whats its USP please

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 18:11

Just has a shufti and chalet sleeping 6 will cost you aroun 1600 euros for 2 weeks in the summer holiday. Slap on £175 for the channel tunnel.....beats £2000!

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 18:11

keycamp go there. Easy drive to good beaches, nice places round as well inland, lakes, castles all that shit. It is a nice part of the world

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:13

Nice isn't it? We tried to book in there two years ago, and it is almost inmposiible to get in as an 'independent', all the pitches are booked a year before, by people already there on their hols IYSWIM, which I think is a good recomendation.

We go to a smaller site, also in the grounds of a chateux in the same area.

If you have not done the vendee before get a copy of Angela Birds guide to the vendee...excellent and tells you loads of stuff to do, like the Velo rail in Commequiers, and canoe hire in Apremont etc

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:19

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 18:21

yes, and the pitches are all nice and big as well. Loads of room. Keycamp go there , but you could book direct and save some dosh.

It is like being in the ggrounds of a country park, rather than crammed into a site (which is how you feel sometimes)

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:21

whast IS a blank baby?
and ambience att he salooon

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:23

god the boys woudl loive the soccer hting though

Blandmum · 11/11/2006 18:24

Yup, you go and have your ambience felt!

15 min drive from beaches though. Quite nice beaches once you get there, and piss easy drive. Most of the beaches have masses of parking by them, so you have little probs parking. Only place that is hard to park is Sable d'ollone

We love St Gilles Crois de Ville, has a fantastic fish resturant that we go to each year.

TheHighwayCod · 11/11/2006 18:24
