Does anyone know anywhere nice to camp that is less than 2 hours away from Milton Keynes?

I'd love to go to the sea, but we're so landlocked here that it takes more than 2 hours to get to the coast.

I found what looked like a lovely place in Symonds Yat, but the AA says it's over 2 hour away, and I should go via M6 etc - not a place I'd like to be on a Friday evening.

We want to go away for the w/e soon

been through the various options with dh and we finally decided on the Forest of Dean and have booked in here

That looks absolutely stunning and much better than anything near you. TBH, Billing definitely doesn't even start to compare.

Forest of Dean was lovely and the campsite was good too.Symonds Yat was spectacular.

Took us ages to get there though - nearly 3 hrs.

i am looking for somewhere also to go, about 1.5 hours from milton keynes, somewhere where someone will hepl me put up the tent!!! as it is just me and 2 girls!!!
