Does anyone know anywhere nice to camp that is less than 2 hours away from Milton Keynes?

I'd love to go to the sea, but we're so landlocked here that it takes more than 2 hours to get to the coast.

I found what looked like a lovely place in Symonds Yat, but the AA says it's over 2 hour away, and I should go via M6 etc - not a place I'd like to be on a Friday evening.

We want to go away for the w/e soon

I have friends who go camping regularly in your area - but I assume you want to get away from MK? Any places within striking distance that have a lake?

Cosgrove or Billin Aquadrome, both gorgeous!!!! and about 30 mins from you.

UCM · 29/06/2006 19:01

Its very peaceful and just enough for a weekend.

iota · 29/06/2006 19:09

have just been trawling the UK campsite for ideas

I don't think Cosgrove takes tents any more UCM.

Had discounted Billing as it's so close to us - want to explore somewhere new

zippi -I like that one but it's nearly 3 hrs from MK. Too far for the w/e.

I'm currently browsing Cambridgeshire in the UK Campsite
