We want to camp in Pembrokeshire near the coast next summer (more st david's round to Newport than Tenby way).

We don't really like campsites which have pitches laid out like a car park or evening entertainment. We do like nice showers and toilet.

Where would you recommend?

Tything Barn

lovely.

Well the weather is often gorgeous i'll agree but i still tend to need a wetsuit minimum - so not sure that place is for me.

We went to lleithyr farm when we had the really hot spell in July. Absolutely beautiful part of Wales. The electric hook up side was laid out so the pitches are around the edge of the field so lots of space in the middle. No entertainment just the birds and sheep to listen to. Whitesands Beach is very close and is lovely.

Thanks for that Link Flossychops - looks a great site. We were at Newgale a week ago and it is beautiful but a bit exposed (very windy!), so we were looking for other sites around that area.

We drove past Newgale on the way to the campsite and thought it looked really exposed to the elements - St David's is a lovely place to visit. We also did the drive to Tenby and Caldey Island. It was like being on a desert island - just stunning Smile

Trellyn, it's amazing! We had the meadow. The upper meadow and lower are the best. Only five pitches on the site. Very quiet.

Loo's and bathroom are spotless.

Ooh, Trellyn looks beautiful , Thanks :)

Watching for suggestions.

Porth Clais nr St Davids, on the coastal path with plenty of hedges to break the wind.

Amazing views just dont pitch in the middle of the field if its windy!!

http://www.caerfaifarm.co.uk/camping/ Caerfai Farm meets all your requirements, walkable into St Davids too. Can be slightly windy but the view is worth it.

Hi,

I'm trying to get Mumsnet Pembrokeshire more active, so feel free to add any good pembrokeshire campsites here or start a discussion on Pembrokeshire Talk.

Thanks,

head straight for Whitesands bay, there's a basic campsite before the beach, cold showers, toilets no set out pitches, the most amazing location ever!!
