I am! Am currently in packing denial....

Not sure how I'm going to manage it with 6 year old (well she's fine) and almost 18 month old that constantly wants to be carried.

Tiredtrout · 30/07/2013 12:52

I am, I'm currently having heated discussions with Millets over Sweetpea the teepee springing a leak at the weekend, we may have to fit 5 of us in a 3 man tent at this rate. It's dh first year, going with a 16yo dd, 12yo ds and 10wo baby

Whitecat · 30/07/2013 13:06

Yes, yes, yes.

I've even managed to origami 6 year old into her ancient buggy for night time ventures - yay, Silent Disco!

Grockle · 30/07/2013 19:29

We have a trolley ready to stick DS(7) in at night so we can dance to DJ Yoda & the silent disco! My 'packing' is all over the floor.

OP posts:
Whitecat · 30/07/2013 21:15

Grockle my packing is more of a pickle but I know I can order the chaos.

shirazplease · 30/07/2013 21:57

No space for the trolley this year. Boo. Comfy buggy for 18 month old has (unfortunately) to take priority. So we'll be joining the queues to rent a trolley there to cart our crap stuff to our pitch.

I do wish we could drive to our spot at camping plus......

Speaking of which, does anybody know anything about the 'Festaxi'?

Other than trolley debacle, I'm feeling rather uncomfortable in that I'm a touch too organised. I must be missing something crucial.....

No packing started yet, the plan is all in my head, so looking forward to it. The site build photos are on the Facebook site and it's looking good

farrowandballs · 30/07/2013 23:00

I'm going! Very excited! Also in packing denial and leave tomorrow (sleeping over at Avebury en route). We're in the campervan field. Our first Camp Bestival (although been to many other festivals). Looking forward to Polyphonic Spree, Scroobius Pip, Kloot, Mad Professor, Billy Bragg and Proclaimers! YAY!

farrowandballs · 30/07/2013 23:02
Wine
Grockle · 31/07/2013 11:43

There were loads of festi taxis at the gate last year.I don't know how much they cost. I'm oping that being in Camping Plus means a much easier trek from the car to the pitch.

Kate Tempest is top of my list. After The Levellers. And the Proclaimers

Off to look for my wellies.

smellylittleorange · 31/07/2013 12:00

smellylittleorange · 31/07/2013 12:02

Seen Cuban Brothers, Billy and Kate live at Camp B before brilliant. Please all try to catch Skinny Lister too on Sunday deserve to be so much more famous then they are!

BuntCadger · 31/07/2013 12:16

Meeeeeee am festival virgin!

Me (preg), dh, 2 Ds (13,5) dd 21m. I bought a retrowagen and thinking of taking stroller too as ds2 gets tired out and overloaded. Am taking lots of food, glow sticks, bubbles, fairy lights. No dressing up outfits sorted :-/ but have flower headbands fir me and dd. oh and dry shampoo.

Am I right in thinking rocky horror in Sunday line up?

Looking forward to levellers, ash, proclaimers, science tent, dino thing, ds2 has access for mr tumble.

Any tips re reusable nappies as dd in them and won't wear disposables, no idea re launderette

Tiredtrout · 31/07/2013 13:41

Bunt you sound so organised, I'm still doing washing and trying to remember how to tie a toga! There's no launderette there so I'm not sure what you will do with your reusables

Grockle · 31/07/2013 17:55

I have no dressing up. I was confused about the theme and only just have space for my actual clothes!

Car all packed now. It's only an hour away from us but apparently we have an early start!

Looking forward to a massage tomorrow then a weekend of good food, good music & no stress!

OP posts:
shirazplease · 31/07/2013 17:56

OK, so the car is full to capacity, and yet everything is not in. Spent an hour packing it and then an hour fighting with the roofbox. Does not help that I'm 5'2"....

Wail.

We're driving straight to france on Tues morning after spending the night in Portsmouth. Seemed like a good idea at the time of booking.... I must have been delirious at the time.

Grockle · 31/07/2013 19:58

Shiraz, you'll be exhausted! The drive to Bournemouth on Sunday night seems daunting enough!

Pimms packed, along with wagon, crisps, fairy lights & bunting. No cooker but lots of cash. My purse will cry by the end of the weekend!

OP posts:
BuntCadger · 31/07/2013 20:11

Grockle - very organised! We are semi packed, well just roof box. Coming from new forest side of Southampton so not too far for us either.

BuntCadger · 31/07/2013 20:13

Shiraz - wow! How long are you in france for? Are to euro camping or in a gite? We go 15th August for a couple of weeks and it seems tight for us lol.

Sadly no pimms for me given current condition lol.

I reckon ill have enough nappies to see us through, just, and then bags if wet ones to take home.. Yuck.

BuntCadger · 31/07/2013 20:18

Trout - lol last time I wore a toga it fell off! I've opted for fairy wings for me and dd... We come from neverland, ds1 will be cowboy/outback as will dh and ds2 either pirate or cowboy or nothing. He dislikes dressing up for parties.

I was planning on cuddling smallest to sleep and popping her in wagon and staying up late.. Is that what usually happens? All new for us and will be odd not following routine for ds2 and dd.

Montypig · 31/07/2013 20:18

We are ! We are practicing in a yurt in north Devon now ( it's amazing ! Stock gaylard if anyone needs a yurt !) and then off on Friday with 3 under 5 1/2 .......

Grockle · 31/07/2013 20:49

Yep, that's what happens, Bunt. Loads of sleeping (& not sleeping) littlies up at all hours!

Love the dressing up ideas. Maybe I'll get DS to pack something.

OP posts:
Grockle · 31/07/2013 20:50

Am going to google Stock Gaylard!

IHeartKingThistle · 31/07/2013 20:53

argh I'm in packing hell! Last year it said 2 days sun 2 days rain so I packed accordingly and we got 4 blistering days - this year it says 1 day sun 3 days rain so I've packed for 4 days of both just in case!

Never camped in the rain - bit worried!
