Brilliant site, on the edge of Weybourne - Foxhills. It's lovely.

Go to the lovely ice cream shop in Sheringham. We liked the Christmas Pudding flavour and the chocolate, Cointreau and raisin flavour the best!

GibberTheMonkey · 29/07/2013 21:26

I'm in north norfolk

It's the same ol' shit Grin

Enjoy your holiday and I hope we don't get the storms they keep forecasting us

usualsuspect · 29/07/2013 21:29

Cafe on the front at sheringham does fab flapjack, best I've ever tasted.

CaveyLovesPendleton · 29/07/2013 21:37

We were in Sheringham today. Massive thunderstorm this afternoon but it only lasted 20 minutes.
Which cafe for flapjack?

Holkham's nice

CaveyLovesPendleton · 29/07/2013 21:48

The stately home thing gibber? We wondered about that for a bit of cycling

SoftSheen · 29/07/2013 21:49

I second Holkham. Got to be one of the most stunning beaches in the UK and it is completely unspoilt.

CaveyLovesPendleton · 29/07/2013 21:50

Cool

GibberTheMonkey · 29/07/2013 21:51

Yes though I meant the beach Smile
You'll have just missed the chaos of the country fair there

CaveyLovesPendleton · 29/07/2013 21:52

There were signs for it everywhere gibber Grin

Cromer also has a nice beach, so does Old Hunstanton.

Go back to Sheringham and get some honeycomb hokey pokey ice cream from Ronaldo's, or feel a mumsnetter's curse

GibberTheMonkey · 29/07/2013 22:00

Hunstantons quite a way over but if you're off that way at all there are some wonderful guided muddy harbour walks for children at brancaster staithe

Stiffkey has a nice pub especially if you like seafood (though are good for kids too) think its the redlion. So many good pubs up this way. (Wouldn't recommend The Pigs though)

ThePortlyPinUp · 29/07/2013 22:01

I got the dd's the 50p kids cones from Sheringham on Saturday and they were huge!

NormanTheForeman · 29/07/2013 22:03

There are some good lifeboat stations to visit too - Hunstanton (at Old Hunstanton) has a hovercraft, Wells has a good station, Cromer has a slipway-launched boat, and Sheringham has an inshore boat, nice station with small shop. Also the Henry Blogg Museum at Cromer is good, as is the Mo at Sheringham.

MissBeehiving · 29/07/2013 22:08

Sea Palling has the best sandy beach in North Norfolk and is close to good icrecream. Holkham's a bloody long hike from the car park and it's too far from the icecream. West Runton is brilliant for rock pooling (check the tide tables) and icrecream. Rocket House Café at Cromer has good food, you can sit outside on the balcony and watch the crab boats. Galton Blackiston (Michelin starred chef) has just opened fish and chip shop in Cromer, on the front which sounds yummy and all us loocals can't wait to try it.

YellowDinosaur · 29/07/2013 22:09

Hellooooo Cavey so that's where you are! Never been to Norfolk but sounds fab

GibberTheMonkey · 29/07/2013 22:11

Oh I wonder if his chippy is better than his restaurant. We went once a few years back for fil's birthday and I was really underwhelmed.

We go to dave's in Sheringham if we're out, or Albert's in Holt if I can't be arsed to cook
