We'll definitely go here We went last year for 4 nights and it worked out really good value as there was enough on the park for the kids that we didn't need to leave it (which meant we could drink wine at lunch time as no driving - always a bonus on holiday).

And I'm going to book this place

Also we'll probably do a few of nights here which is not far from home.

We're planning on Dorset too, I've got a couple of sites near Lyme Regis in mind. I also looked into the New Forest, that Holland Park site looks lovely. I gave DD1 the choice between fossils or ponies and she chose fossils, so Dorset it is.

Might manage a long weekend in Norfolk, depends on visiting overseas in-laws and how much holiday DH has left over.

we are going to Brittany for a week here and then will have a couple of weekends locally in Jersey. Can't wait!

Can you recommend the Greenhil park happyhorse? It looks quite nice and it's not too far from us (we live in Essex).

The site in Brittany looks great too funnys. Have you been there before?

South-West France (Biaritz/Hossegor area) in the summer, and hopefully a weekend or two at Lobb Fields in Devon, and a couple of days at Eweleaze farm campsite near Weymouth depending on the weather and our finances!

We will probably go to this site in Lyme Regis again because it was the most perfect holiday ever last year.

We'll probably do Hollands Wood as well. It's silly - we live less than 30 minutes away but the DS's love it!

And also Camp Bestival.

I think we're going to stay close to home.

Ooh, that's one of the campsites I was looking at Grockle- would you recommend it then? We were thinking of June.

Definitely, eaurouge. It depends what you expect. The new toilet block was great - enough showers, clean loos etc. It was full of families with lots of children so was nice for DS.

You can walk into Lyme without going on a road pretty much the whole way - and you come out by a bridge where there is a Banksy picture on the side of the building.

It has a good little shop, staff were friendly (& were very helpful when I needed to be jump started when we left!). The only downside is that because all the pitches are on levelled/ terraced ground, it can be really difficult to get pegs in. We'll probably go at half term (1st week of June-ish)

Hook Farm looks lovely. Will add that to my list of sites to visit.

Cycles I've not been to Greenhill Park before but I think I found it through a recommendation on here. It also has good reviews on Ukcampsite.

Cycles no we haven't but did go to Pointe St Gilles last year which is just up the coast and it was great. Not too far for us to drive either. 50 mins ferry and then about a 2 hr drive. I love Eurocamp!

We've just booked a week at Kelling Heath in Norfold website

We'll probably have at least one weekend at Rowlestone Court Farm website It's so cheap and so lovely for the kids to roam around.

Is it just me, or does everywhere seem mega expensive this year? [might be overly influenced by lots of weekends at Rowlestone and a week we won in a raffle last year]

Kelling Heath is lovely Fourarms :) We will prob end up there at some point. But I'm not booking anything in the UK as the weather is so random - we'll just follow the sunshine! Manor Farm is our go-to campsite for last-minute trips.

We're going for two weeks in France with Canvas in the summer - Berny Riviere and Domaine De Drancourt. First time abroad with the DC!

We're looking for somewhere for a week in May, can't decide whether to go to Yorkshire or Norfolk/Suffolk.

Thanks Meg! All the reviews I've read sounded good. I hope we get nice weather because it's probably the most expensive UK booking I've ever made (and every time we go camping with the family we've booked with we get extreme weather!!).

We stayed in a hotel for a night last September and came across this campsite, so we will go back this summer, hopefully getting there before the Dutch this year!

Amazing campsite.

We will also go for a long weekend to this one in the Black Forest such a peaceful underrated lake.

I'd love to go to jersey or guernsey too. Any suggestions or tips?

Lots of lovely campsites mentioned here. Might try some of the UK ones. And the Brienz one looks great, how long is the drive?

Lisad123 - yes it was very busy, but the site is so big, with many, many different fields to choose from, that its do-able I think. ....

It is not a small rural campsite. It's big business, they turn over a fortune in the (very expensive) farm shop every day and the queues for bread in the morning are very very long ..... If you are looking for a Cherry Tree Farm type of experience, Eweleaze is not for you. And it's not cheap! It's only an hour's drive from our house so, bearing in mind that our DD gets horrendously carsick and that both our DCs are animal lovers, it's a winner for us (you can pet all the animals whenever you want, and there are loads of them). Everyone on the campsite was very polite and friendly, and respectful of each other's space, which was lovely. No flushing loos though!
