Please? Just a simple place with decent loos and showers (incl disabled) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks very much Smile.

Thanks everyone, Dh has decided to ignore all your my suggestions Hmm and has booked Heyford leys at Bicester. I hope it's ok. I asked him if he'd remembered to ask about disabled facilities and he hadn't so if there aren't any I'll have a quiet week and he'll have a lot of running about to do! I'm not going in the gents and that's that Wink.

Just came back to this thread to let you all know for future ref that the Heyford Leys campsite was pretty good and we would go there again. Field was nice and flat with hedges all around, owners were lovely and friendly, toilets and showers very clean and the cubicles were large to accommodate wheelchairs or families (or a rather blatant 'noisy' couple who were in the one next to dh while he had his shower Shock). Electric hookup and wifi kept the boys happy as we had rather a lot of torrential rain but drainage was good so no mud or puddles.
Nice and peaceful and good as a base for exploring the area but it's in a very strange place on an abandoned airbase so there is nothing but big buildings with security fencing or derelict huts for miles. It was quite nice in a way as not much traffic about. There is a shop (or 'shopette' for local people Grin) if you turn left out of site and walk fast for about 10 mins but it's not immediately obvious as it doesn't face the road so of course we drove straight past the first time and ended up miles away Grin. The Barleymow pub down by the canal does lovely food. HTH someone! Smile
