I have tried hanging out with the fatties moaning about my belly but they are not interested or tell me to low carb, too dull

Well no more camping trips booked for us until mid August but lurking here all the time.....

GobblersKnob · 25/06/2012 18:31

I haven't been here at all recently, we haven't booked for the summer and it is causing me much anxiety, so I have been avoiding all that is camping related. Though I did get drawn into slubbers ridiculous chair thread Grin

Today I found myself googling prices for an awning for the monty and wondering where I could find £200 ish from, I do think I could feel more cheerful about another week in the sodding rain of we had all that extra space...

AllOverIt · 25/06/2012 18:33

I'm here, looking at camping porn on t'internet...

SeaShellsUnderCanvas · 25/06/2012 18:35

Still here, but sulking as I've only be in my new bell yet for one night in April-and I feel less inclined to camp now than all that time ago! I hat a beautiful tent and it won't stop fukcing raining!!!!!!!

Caerlaverock · 25/06/2012 18:35

Seashell it has been a shitty season and not mistake. Once again we are abandoning our grand tour of the Scottish isles and fleeing to france

I am going for a weekend away in two weeks time - we are testing the new tent, so can't wait!

GobblersKnob · 25/06/2012 19:06

No, monty is an Outwell Montana and I want one of these to go on the front, which admitedly will turn it into a monster, but all the space....

Atm we have one of these for the front, which is just lovely for getting a bit of shelter from the sun while quaffing a glass or two and neither use nor fucking ornament when it is hoofing it down as it has done for the last two years [bitter]. Particually as in strong winds you have to go and take the bastard down to stop in damaging your tent (at two in the morning, oh yes).

I could stick it on the front of the awning and take over the whole site, or maybe make a tunnel to the loos?

Caerlaverock · 25/06/2012 19:09

Art @ tunnel to the loos. My sis has that tent, they are enormouse but v practical in the current climate

Slubberdegullion · 25/06/2012 19:32

I cancelled my snazzy chair order because of you arthritic frumpy bastards

Slubberdegullion · 25/06/2012 19:38

Prob will get dullesville captain sensible thermarest chair (or lounge) converter kit but cannot see the bleedin point at the moment as I'm not going out in this shitehouse weather anytime soon

Slubberdegullion · 25/06/2012 19:40

farkin nora Gobblers, that is like a whole extra tent you are sticking on the front

GobblersKnob · 25/06/2012 19:45

Oh no, you cancelled your chair? But you needed the chair, you were so persuasive, I even showed it to dp, (he just harumped and said 'How much? For a bit of wire and canvas?).

And I know the awning is size of a small planet, but if the weather was shiteola again we wouldn't need to go outside ever, except to cook, but I could make dp do that.

Caerlaverock · 25/06/2012 19:47

Hurrah for chair, you need more comfort in your advanced years

I'm here too. After a half term holiday of damp camping I'm starting to lose the love.

We are booked for a week in France in August. Still pondering bell tent!

topbannana · 25/06/2012 19:50

The weather is GOING to pick up at the end of July and into August. It said so on the internet which renders it true beyond all reasonable doubt :)

Our old Vango is still in the cupboard and has not seen the light of day all year (though with the state of the British weather he is used to somewhat sporadic outings Hmm) I am however despite what the moaning minnies in the family say determined to "do" some weekends away over the summer, I shall of course only pick sites with sunshine over them :o

Ooooh and DH has finally caved after pouring the cheese out of the old coldbox and agreed that an Icey-Tek is JUST what we need, so we will of course have to have a launch event :o

muchostinky · 25/06/2012 20:16

Oh you do need one topbanana they are great. My bright orange icey needs another outing!

Decided that for a weekend it is a bit big, so will just be taking the old wee cool box for that!

topbannana · 25/06/2012 21:33

stinky ours is going to be red. We could not decide so held a secret raffle (need to get out more DH and I :o)
Sadly orange was the first one to go which distressed me terribly and we ended up with red which is fine though I think they may be "out of stock" :o
Sad when a cool box has such an impact on tour life :)

hillbilly · 25/06/2012 21:44

I'm seriously holding out for good weather in the school holidays now, with Forgewood booked for mid August and Welsummer for the Bank Holiday. Did not manage to sell my pitches for Blackberry Wood the other week but they kindly have let me transfer dates (will be next year now since they are sooo booked up).

UptoapointLordCopper · 25/06/2012 22:13

I was in a titchy little tent over the weekend in this weather, you wusses. Grin

TINKERBELLE33 · 25/06/2012 23:01

Gobblersknob Have you tried Preloved or Gumtree? I managed to get a once used awning for £80 a few weeks ago. I did have a 200 mile round trip to collect it but was still an amazing bargain. Haven't been able to put it up due to crap weather but looks in perfect condition.

Next on my list to get are those fabric cupboard type things that go under the kitchen stands to hide all the crap. Hides for blatently outing self as a newbie camper who should have bought a proper kitchen in the first place whilst hoping someone can point in the direction of somewhere that sells the cupboards without the stands!

SeaShellsUnderCanvas · 26/06/2012 09:38

Hmm...better weather in July hey? I hope so!! I have about 2 weeks booked over the "summer" and really hope we get to go.

Lol@tunnel to the loos. A necessity ATM Grin

GobblersKnob · 26/06/2012 11:23

TINKERBELLE33 Will check out Gumtree etc, hadn't thought of that, am a bit lazy when it comes to such things

My fabric type kitchen cupboards were from Aldi, don't know if they have done their camping week yet?

AllOverIt · 26/06/2012 13:29

Ooo we need some fabric cupboards. Anyone know if Aldi or Lidl have any. We don't have either store near us...
