See slubber, when you go to Europe camping on the train and therefore have to carry all your entire camping kit yourself you will not want to have to use your own 2 legs to be able to sit down. You will want to collapse into a comfy chair and chill out with gin. Trust me. Buy the almost as teeny tiny one that has 4 legs! :o

hettie · 19/06/2012 20:28

Slubber... I'll see you your monarch and raise you a sling light ....
actually you know what, when we used to camp by bike we bought a couple of very sturdy kids chairs (without arms) an sat on those.... still going strong (only now we car camp and the kids sit on them!)

theoldtrout01876 · 28/06/2012 02:18

I sat in one of these yesterday in the camping porn store:o
Promptly fell flat on my arse :o. Dh had the nerve to laugh at me,as did everyone in the bloody store. Dh then tried it too and he promptly fell fat on his arse also:o.

It was 3 30 in the afternoon, we were sober fer gods sake,THESE WILL NEVER WORK

( bought a beautiful new tent though )

YellowDinosaur · 28/06/2012 07:59

Where is the camping porn store of which you speak oldtrout?

Tomjoules · 28/06/2012 08:21

Slubber. Put four legs of the chair on the floor, child. And your two feet. Good girl. Now finish your spellings.

Slubberdegullion · 28/06/2012 10:08

I cancelled the bloody order.

Obviously fun in a diddly chair is just a ridiculous concept. Bah.

Am now looking at foldable parker knoll riser-recliner chairs in the hope that they at least will get the mn campers enthused.

OP posts:
Tomjoules · 28/06/2012 16:47

Good girl. Have a house point. Reflect on my reclining camping chair with foot support, gininatin holder and padded head rest.

Caerlaverock · 28/06/2012 17:01

I order 2 gelert execs in a jaunty red

theoldtrout01876 · 28/06/2012 21:12

YellowDinosaur camping porn

CaveyIsFinbarrSaunders · 28/06/2012 22:23

Crikey!

It looks like some kind of birthing contraption.

YellowDinosaur · 29/06/2012 06:10

Thanks oldtrout :o

Tom i'm coveting your reclining camping chair with gininatin holder. Where did you get it from?

Tomjoules · 29/06/2012 09:00

Blacks. Never google blacks with safe search off!

Hebiegebies · 29/06/2012 09:12

Slubberdegullion - How dare you cancel the order?! I was looking forward to the thread....

I'm in A&E, fell out of my chair while reaching for my G&T

Or

Help I'm stuck in my chair and ony have MN for company

Grin

Those chairs make me feel really old, I'd be worried festival goers would tread on me and I wouldn't be able to get out of it :(

Slubberdegullion · 29/06/2012 09:14

I could not countenance the shrieks of "told you so".

OP posts:
YellowDinosaur · 28/06/2013 15:12

so...

On the back of this I have found a very similar chair made by the same company that, crucially, has 4 legs. But just for you slubber, it has the ability to remove 2 of the legs so if you wish to rock you can. But if you have had 'some' gin you can have the stability.

I bring you the alite mayfly

Which I might have just bought for 77 dollars on Ebay so just under 70 quid including postage. Pointless when you see the size of the rest of my shite but I am moving potentially towards minimalism as the boys get older and you have to start somewhere! (no sniggering in the back please!)

Lovecat · 28/06/2013 15:21

Does the man-footrest come as an optional extra?

I have a horrible feeling that if I sat on that on any kind of soft ground whatsoever I'd just sink down into the ground. And then fall over.

Slubberdelatrinae · 28/06/2013 15:25

[the extremely excited face]

was it from an ebay shop/new or was it used?

if a shop then will need a linky link.

farkin ell £70 is a lot for a vair small chair even with 4 legs but holy cow I want one SO BAD

nottersgotterdonkey · 28/06/2013 15:52

What you need is a moon chair

YellowDinosaur · 28/06/2013 16:02

From a seller called bcmultisports. Selling bin for $100 but I sent a cheeky offer of $60 and they countered with $77.55. I'd said to myself I wouldn't go above 60 but somehow my finger hit 'buy'. No idea how that happened.... ;)

YellowDinosaur · 28/06/2013 16:03

And it was new :D

nottersgotterdonkey · 28/06/2013 16:07

Minimal Yellow ? Really ? Blush

YellowDinosaur · 28/06/2013 16:11

I'm accepting that I've got a way to go notters. And actually anything that gives us more space in the car for more stuff as the boys legs get longer is A Good Thing

MeAndMySpoon · 28/06/2013 19:05

No nooo noooo! Don't cancel silly balancing chair order, Slubber! I so want to see you attempt your 4th gin inna tin whilst retaining Scandinavian Elflike coordination and grace. [wunk]

If I had one of those (rather than the spectacularly heavy and bulky moonchair I possess) my little DS2 would take every opportunity to unbalance me from behind. Assuming he hadn't already made a break from the campsite and was halfway to the beach. In the dark.

MeAndMySpoon · 28/06/2013 19:08

Hmm. Must stop clicking these links. I sort of want one myself now. Blush Do you think it tones your arse and gives you thighs of steel, sort of like fit flops?

Slubberdelatrinae · 28/06/2013 19:38

Almost certainly. And improves your pelvic floor for enhanced angry sleeping bag sex.
