What tent did you have jocie? I hope that you were all ok when it broke.

We've got an outwell Vermont l, and while it seemed to be managing well in the wind and rain, the trouble that we were having was that as the ground was getting wetter and wetter, the pegs were getting loser in the ground with the wind which is why we cut our trip short by a day.

I'm not sure that there was a solution to that problem, but would be interested to hear any suggestions that anyone has.

We bailed from Pembrokeshire on Thursday - the weather warnings of 70 mph gales persuaded us that going home was a sensible idea! We had quite nice weather the Mon and Wed, but pretty prsistent rain the rest of the time!

it was a tent we inherited off a friend, not sure of a make, it came from costco. its prob more of a fairweather tent but im pretty pleased with the fact that the pegs and guy ropes were still staying firm despite the weather :) we we'rnt in it when it broke thankfully (well i was but only cos iwas packing everything away in order to start taking it down!) we'd gone out for the day but were called back by my mum who was camping next to us as shed been holding on to her tent for about 1hr trying to stop it blowing away! she was on her own with her foster kids so she got 1 of themn to find her fone and fone us to come back to help her. we managed to get her tents down and then started on ours which was when it started to break so the timing was pretty good actually!

It could have been worse then. Hope it's not put you off camping altogether!
